DES MOINES (AP) --- The fiance of a slain girl's mother has been indicted on additional child pornography charges for allegedly having sexual images of children on his computer.
Casey Frederiksen, 26, of Charles City, was indicted Thursday by a federal grand jury on 12 counts of receiving child pornography and two counts of possession of child pornography, said assistant U.S. attorney Bob Teig. ADVERTISEMENT
HOW TO ADVERTISE » MARKETPLACE » Frederiksen was the live-in fiance of Noel Miller, the mother of 5-year-old Evelyn Miller whose body was discovered July 6 in the Cedar River. The case remains unsolved and no suspects have been named.
The alleged pornography incidents occurred between from 2003 to July 2005.
Teig said the indictment contains no other details. He would not comment further on the case.
The new charges replace a Sept. 29 indictment on a single child pornography charge. Frederiksen was accused of possessing more than 1,000 images on his computer hard drive, including movie clips depicting the sexual abuse of children. Prosecutors have said Frederiksen tried to hide the hard drive from authorities investigating Evelyn Miller's disappearance.
Frederiksen pleaded not guilty to the earlier charge.
The federal pornography investigation is separate from the state investigation into Evelyn Miller's killing. The girl went missing from her family's apartment in Floyd the night of July 1.
Frederiksen lived with the Millers and helped raise the slain girl since her birth. He and Noel Miller are the parents of the girl's two younger brothers, who also lived in their apartment.
Frederiksen remains in the Linn County Jail.
So I guess Noel will continue to party on like there's no tomorrow. Too bad, I was hoping to wake up to news she'd been charged as well. This town will be better off without her.
With what or whom?

KCRG-TV9 NewsVideo
(Cedar Rapids KCRG) -- Prosecutors filed additional charges late Thursday against Casey Frederiksen. Frederiksen is engaged to Noel Miller, the mother of five-year-old Floyd County murder victim Evelyn Miller. Prosecutors previously charged Frederiksen with one count of possessing child pornography. Now, he faces another count of possessing child pornography in addition to 12 counts for receiving child pornography. The U.S. Attorney's Office says those charges stem from incidents that happened between 2003 and 2005. These new charges come after additional witnesses were called to testify before a Federal Grand Jury.
A family member told KCRG-TV9 Evelyn's mother, Noel Miller, testified again before the Federal Grand Jury on Wednesday along with two of Miller's relatives from California. That family member also says, Evelyn's step-mother, Lindsey Christie, appeared before the Grand Jury as well.
Prosecutors had previously charged Frederiksen for having more than 1,000 child pornography images on his computer.
It's still unclear how these new charges will affect Frederiksen's trial that is scheduled to start in January.
Remember, prosecutors still have not charged anyone in connection with Evelyn Miller's murder. You'll remember someone found the little girl's body in the Cedar River back in July.

sick.
See post #2 + seeming lack of progress in the murder investigation. I do know that the investigation is not at a standstill but the wait for justice is at times unbearable.
It is hard to understand how and why charges have not been brought in the pornography issue against Noel.
Hopefully the courts will figure it out but my trust in people and our institutions is at an all-time low.
Thankfully, our hope need not end with people and their institutions.
Thank you, I whould have remembered that.
Didn't Noel and Casey live in california for a while? Noel's sister is here from california and is a school teacher.
If these people had knowlegde of Casey possesing such material and stood idly by then they are just as guilty.
Article from the Charles City Press...bold is mine
A man living with slain 5-year-old Evelyn Miller when she disappeared was indicted Thursday on 13 additional federal child pornography charges.
Late today, the grand jury handed down a superceding indictment with 12 additional charges against Casey Frederiksen for receipt of child pornography, which is alleged to have occurred in 2003, 2004 and 2005, said Assistant U.S. Attorney Bob Teig said Tuesday evening.
Frederiksen, 26, was also indicted on a second count of possession of child pornography on Thursday. The first count, filed on Sept. 29, alleges Frederiksen possessed more than 1,000 VIOLENT AND SADISTIC video images of sexual abuse of children.
Frederiksen pleaded not guilty to the charge. He remains held in Linn County Jail without bond, awaiting a Jan. 3 trial date.
The 13 indictments come the day after several of Evelyns relatives were subpoenaed to testify before a grand jury in Cedar Rapids.
Evelyns stepmother Lindsey Christie, mother Evelyn Miller and two of Millers COUSINS from California testified on Wednesday, according to Evelyns grandfather, Richard Christie of Des Moines.
Frederiksen, Millers fiance, was asleep inside the couples apartment near Floyd when Evelyn disappeared on July 1. Her body was found in the Cedar River on July 6.
Authorities said the young girl was murdered, but have not released how or when she was killed. No arrests have been made.
Floyd County Attorney Marilyn Dettmer said the federal child pornography investigation is separate but intertwined with the state murder investigation.
An indictment is a written accusation delivered by a grand jury, which typically meet in secret.

and two of Millers COUSINS from California
What do you mean to imply is significant about "cousins"?
I do not know if they testified but I know that Noel's mother and sister went down to the grand jury and now we know that her cousins testified about the computer or said contents...That is far too many people knowing about this stuff.
I do not know what the testimony of the cousins was. According to the information that I had, one of the cousins stayed with Casey and Noel last summer. They are both adults. Casey may have shown them the images or mentioned to them that he had them and that they were his and that it was his and did not involve Noel. - Just a guess.
If Casey did this, Noel would probably know of the material on the drive also which in my small mind would implicate her in a conspiracy later to hide these facts from investigators and the Grand Jury. This would hinge on the testimony of the cousins that Noel knew of or was told about the porn and then with Casey conspired to hide it.
Noel lived in California as a young girl. Casey never lived there. There was something incorrectly reported about them living there together at some point. From what I hear, Noel's sister likes to say she's a school teacher, but in reality, she is in school working on a teaching degree, but doesn't actually teach. Thank goodness, I don't think I'd want anyone in Noel's family teaching my kids. Both cousins who have been subpoenaed supposedly lived with them at some point. Perhaps they need to clear anyone who was living in the home at the time?
I think this whole saga is very interesting. We'll have to see what happens when actual details (as opposed to generic indictments with no details) come out publicly.
I wonder what, if anything, this has to do with Evelyn's death. I also wonder if Randy Patrie was ever subpoenaed and the press never picked up on that.
