A campaign convenience is no more.

Teresa Heinz, the erstwhile Teresa Heinz Kerry, has stopped using the last name of her husband...

Preceding its Women Who Make a Difference Awards dinner next month, the National Council for Research on Women is featuring "a conversation with Teresa Heinz," according to a release from the organization.

The council failed to mention the final half of the Fox Chapel ketchup heiress' formerly elongated last name in several other references.

Maybe now that she has dropped the Kerry name, perhaps she is getting ready to drop the man also. Theresa is still in love with her dead husband, and nothing John Kerry could do will ever match up. At some point I see her dumping John Kerry. Who needs a Jewish guy who pretends he is an Irishman, and acts like a Frenchman, pray tell.

I bought a case last year, and brought them to bbqs, etc. It tastes no different than the others, and the kids liked it. I need to order more.

"So she decides to keep the last name of her dead (less dead?) husband?"

Mostly dead....

She bought herself a Senator.

And she took 15 other senators (and a couple of other congress critters) out for a test drive before she made her final selection. Of course she also gave them 'in depth' interviews too. Sounds like she is getting ready to trade in for a new model.

Ah, they made a semi-honest woman out of her. Now she has to drop the real Kerry.

Well, here we have a guy who cannot show up for work...
how many votes did he miss as a senator?

So, it should not surprise anyone that he cannot show up for performance!

(Get it? She pays the bills and expects some pleasure....)

Myg*d what a job!

"Gotta be a sad day for the Democrats when being associated with Ketchup is better than being associated with their presidential candidate."

And the name of a former husband, to boot! Who does she love more? It's obvious. Kerry is such a wimp! Who in their right, manly self would put up with that garbage? He is truly girly.

This is the very definition of a clueless cyclist: riding in traffic with no helmet, talking on a cell phone. Not to mention all that red and yellow matching stuff.

But his hair is perfect.

not  one, single, solitary bill that John Kerry had authored and passed...in twenty years...

In twenty years, he never authored and passed one bill in the Senate.

He has one of the worse attendance records in the Senate.

Someone else here likely knows the exact numbers.

In modern Spain and Portugal, women keep their maiden names after marriage and the children have a "first surname" and "second surname". In Spain, the paternal surname comes first and, in Portugal, the paternal surname comes last.

Personally, I like that system as it does not obliterate a man's surname from his daughter and his daughter's children. Given the choice between my wife bearing my surname or my daughter and her children bearing my surname, I would gladly choose the latter option.

(Without using Google, what is the surname of the maternal grandfather of the Bush twin? See my point?)

Before the 19th Century, however, things were different in Spain and Portugal. Among prominent families, the children could choose whichever surname, maternal or paternal, they preferred. When the maternal surname was much more illustrious than the paternal surname, the less illustrious paternal surname was dropped in favor of the more illustrious maternal surname.

So, it seems that Teresa is following a variation of the old Portuguese custom. She has made it clear that she considers "Heinz" much more illustrious than "Kerry".

(To all the genuine "Kerrys" out there, it should be noted that John F. Kerry is not a real "Kerry". His actual surname by the male line is "Kohn". If the Kerry family has no respect for their actual surname, why should Teresa have any respect for their pseudo-surname.)

How pathetic – it was just a show. He wanted her money and she wanted the title of First Lady. They are both out of luck, LOL!
