CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- An intoxicated passenger who lit a cigarette and urinated in the aisle led pilots to divert a United Airlines flight from Orlando to Washington, D.C., an airline spokeswoman said.
The man, whose name the airline declined to release, was taken off flight 1502 in Charlotte and questioned by police, spokeswoman Robin Urbanski said.
The man was "acting extremely inappropriately," Urbanski said. "When you want to run a safe airline, we don't tolerate that type of activity on our aircraft."
A Charlotte-Mecklenburg police watch commander referred questions about an in-flight incident to the FBI in Charlotte, which did not immediately return a call seeking comment.

He rubbed two toothpicks together...he he he
Ah, it just ain't Thanksgiving unless one pisses on a public conveyance on one's way home.
Just pilots. Oh yes, they finally recalled the America West pilots who were three sheets to the wind. It took some doing.
He retaliated by defecating on the food service cart (I am not making this up).
Gross.
Maybe there was a line at the toilet because a couple was joining the mile high club.
When ya gotta go , ya gotta go.
Such great traditions...the turkey with all the trimmings...visiting friends and family...public intoxication and urination followed by an arrest...
Minority?
Yeah, Letterman did his Top Ten Excuses. The only one I remember:
Oh! Like you never did it!
My wife, who won't quit smoking no matter how often she promises, walked through airport security with one today. I know; I was with her.
Sheesh
Because he's black, Muslim or both?
I'm on break.
Piss-poor altitude...
Actually, on a lot of the flights I've been on lately, this would have been rather appropriate behavior! How I hate flying these days.
The scene in the cockpit after this incident...
So, now we know where f.Christian spends Thanksgiving.
LOL
I have flown quite a bit since this no lighter rule went into effect and have noticed that virtually every lighter makes it through too.
The only way it doesn't is if you get pulled aside for the "special" checks and searched. If they physically pluck one out of your bag they take it.
