An earlier thread linked to an OpinionJournal article which pointed out that moveon.org had mistaken British troops for American troops. They noted that one of the soldiers was wearing shorts (which are not part of a normal combat uniform).
Now, moveon appears to have doctored the above mentioned photo.
The current moveon.org link now shows the exact photo as before, but now the soldier is mysteriously wearing pants. If you enlarge the photo, it looks like he is actually wearing one pant leg which covers both his legs.
Here is the moveon link with the soldier wearing pants: https://political.moveon.org/donate/thanksgiving.html
Here is the moveon link to the movie which contains the same photo of the soldier, but wearing shorts. https://political.moveon.org/donate/thanksgiving-QT.html
Here is the opinion journal article where he is wearing shorts: http://www.opinionjournal.com/best/?id=110007612
They have got to be total idiots.
I see they use the Dan Rather way of authenticating pictures....they make it up.
welcome to Fr
the pic I could see still shows them wearing british fatigue patterns and undershirts
Moron.org
This is another reason I call them MoreOn.org
And welcome to FR
F'ing pinheads.
Rot in hell, Soros, you lying b@stard.
Busted again!
Welcome to Free Republic!
There was a British guy that I used to see all the time at Camp Victory who cut his DCU jacket and trousers into shorts and used to walk around in his tennis shoes. He would also wear his little beret with the pom-pom on top.
I think he must have been the head of the entire Royal Military. He looked like something out of a Monty Python skit.
Paging backhoe, this one has the potential to be a classic.
Here's the photoshopped one
The ones with Pom Poms are scottish highlanders I believe.
"They have got to be total idiots"
Not really.
They think they are borrowing from The Master of doctored images,
their own Stalin.
They must think this book of examples of Stalin's images doctored by
Stalin is a textbook for MoveOn's image presentation!
The Commissar Vanishes: The Falsification of Photographs and Art in Stalin's Russia (Hardcover)
by David King

Although it's hard for me to tell from the small size of the video-caps,
does it look like someone has just duplicated the image of the pants of
the soldier standing to the left of the "shorts" soldier in the original image?
And then just pasted a copy of those pants onto the "shorts" soldier
for the "MoveOn New and Improved" image?
I wonder if this new image was faxed in from Kinkos in Abiliene, TX.
Did a certain somebody got a partying gift copy of Photoshop as they were
ejected from their prestigious national TV news post?
Where is buckhead when you need him?

bump for publicity
It's obvious that what the faker did was to copy the pantlegs of the fellow in the rear onto the one in the front. The camouflage pattern is identical. That's pretty pathetic, really.
