My translated synopsis:
Bild Zeitung quotes BND (German Intelligence) sources saying Iran has purchased 18 kits (BM-25 Mobile missiles) from North Korea. The kits could help extend the range of its Russian SS-N-6 missiles to 3500 km, the distance between Teheran and Berlin. Previously it was only known that Iran had Shehab-3 missiles with a range of 1300 km. The BND warns that Germany and other partzs of Euriope could be threatened mid to long term by Iran's new first strike capabilities.
The BND has intelligence indicating Iranian scientists are working intensively to attach nuclear warheads to its missiles. Near Täbriz, 600 km North of Teheran, the BND has located a test-pad for silo based missiles.
The BND also warned that China had shipped aluminum rings to Iran which could be used to build multi-stage rockets with a range of 10,000 kn and which could reach the United States.
If you read German, click on the article headed "Irans Raketen

It's the Bild Zeitung so don't click on the "Boobie" pictures.
Wasn't Saddamned trying to buy delivery systems from North Korea?

'AXIS' of EVIL
First We Take Manhattan. Then we take Berlin
Leonard Cohen
Isn't that where the SCUD originates?
PING
With an effective range of 1,000 to 1,300 km, a Scud launched from Iran couldn't even reach Israel with any reasonable degree of accuracy. Israel is small, and the chance of hitting local friendlies is too great.
No, a more tempting target would be Europe. It really doesn't matter where the thing detonates there; all hell will break loose.
*World's smallest violin plays for the Germans...*
'AXIS' of EVIL is correct. But somehow I doubt their primary target will be Berlin. They've already stated what they want to do and who they want to wipe off the face of the planet. First.
Iran is acting like a bully with a set of brass knuckles hidden in his pocket. Iran is daring the world to take action (maybe because it thinks it has a hidden terror weapon?) It is in the interest of all Western Nations to stop Iran before it does something we will all be sorry for.
Damn.60-some years too late to help out.

Bloomberg also carrying the story but we're not supposed to link to them.
With a nuke you don't have to hit a target, you just have to get it in the neighborhood.
Say lob one anywhere near the center of Israel and it's all over cept maybe a response of a nuke or ten from Israel.
Why would they want to hit Germany? Didn't they just say that the Holocaust didn't happen? That sounds to me like they are sympathetic to the Germans.
More importantly, when will they be able to reach Paris?
"Save your White Flags, France will surrender again!!!!"
Yup. Nukes in the hands of Islamofascist madmen would be the world's worst nightmare. I see much heat and fire in Iran's future unless there's a sudden regime change and a total reversal in direction.
<*World's smallest violin plays for the Germans...*>
I wouldnt be surprised to find out the Germans have been activily helping Iran.
It would be too bad if we had to nuke Tehran. There are some good anti-Islamofascists there. Maybe they can knock the mullahs off before anything bad has too happen.
too=to
And Paris, and Brussels, and the Hague.
This is what you get when you coddle evil.
H1, H2, H3: AXLES OF EVIL...
How long before these bozos acquire sub-orbital capability and MIRV's? Maybe now the EU and NATO will support a pre-emptive strike by Israel. Let the Israelis do the work and run the risks before the Europeans have to take action.
So does Germany still believe in the "wait & see" strategy ???
I hope the Germans don't think they can ring up Uncle Sam to come riding to their rescue. They don't need the steenkeen USA, remember?
Who sold the Iranians most of their reactor technology? I know France was the major supplier for Iraq.
Russia, Soviet Union (whatever this month) supplies Iran and most of the middle east with Nuc technology.
It's not the missiles I worry about. It's the one in the car trunk.
Give the Iranians a break!
We all know that they live 50-100 years behind the times, regardng technology. Perhaps they've read some guy named Hitler was threatening the world and wanted to help us maintain our freedom??
Do I win an award if I guess right and say...ummmmm...
Israel?
"The BND also warned that China had shipped aluminum rings to Iran which could be used to build multi-stage rockets with a range of 10,000 kn and which could reach the United States."
I'm sure IAEA chief Mohammad El Baradei (recent winner of the Nobel "Peace" Prize) will say that these rings are not for multi-stage rockets and that the world should cease harassing the Iranians who are only trying to develop a peaceful nuclear "energy" program. What a crock of crap!
I am guessing Iran has the bomb.
It seems the cold war is not over, Russia and China have just become partners.
Yemen, which received about $2 BILLION in USA funded World Bank money, immediately purchased missiles from North Korea with that USA taxpayer money.
Earlier in the year, after a previous purchase of missile parts by Yemen from North Korea, Ari Fleischer, President George Bush's press secretary, said the following:
"President Bush has no concern about Yemen. The government of Yemen has been making constructive steps in working with the United States on the war against terror."Ari Fleischer, White House press secretary, August 23, 2002
Another American official noted that "when the sanctions against N. Korea are announced in the Federal Register in the coming days [early in the year 2002], Yemen will not be identified as the purchasing country. Yemen committed itself to joining the war on terrorism following the Sept. 11 attacks. . ."
Incredible.
The official went on:
"U.S. authorities asked Yemen why it bought the parts, and officials in that country apologized, promised not to do so again and pledged to help in other areas. . . The United States decided against any penalties for Yemen."
Two months later, Yemen takes the $2.3 BILLION in American taxpayer money, and buys more missiles from North Korea.
What will happen to Iraq will happen to Iran, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and other states. No State should think that it is distant from those threats. Arab countries should have a unified stance and express total opposition to such a threat [war against Iraq] . . . We have bought these missiles and this is a legitimate right for Yemen. President Saleh of Yemen, August, 24, 2002
Axis of Evil
or more ... and I doubt the targets would be limited to Iranian ... more like the last part of The Godfather, i.e. all family business will be settled.
Somebody in Tehran should grab the wheel from the idiots now in charge. They are on course to get everybody killed.
I gather he has gotten beyond "Oh take me to the slaughter house, I will wait there with the lambs." LOL
(I love Leonard Cohen's morose music. Must be the limited sunlight up there.)
Don't forget the Russians!
And Russia is reverting to some sort of form of communism.... Once KGB communists, Always KGB communists

Iran has bought 18 BM-25 missiles from North Korea which the Islamic Republic wants to transform to extend their range, the German press reported Dec. 16.
Iran has bought 18 disassembled BM-25 missiles from North Korea with a range of 2,500 kilometers (1,553 miles), Bild newspaper said, citing a report from the German secret services.
It added that Irans ultra conservative President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad wants to have the range of the missiles extended to 3,500 kilometers.
The newspaper said that until now Iran only had Shehab-3 missiles with a range of 1,300 kilometers.
It further cited the secret service report as warning that with a longer range, and the probability that (Tehran) would try to equip the missiles with nuclear warheads, there is the risk that Iran could strike at Israel and parts of central Europe.
It added that according to the German intelligence services, Iranian experts were already working on fitting the missiles with nuclear warheads.
The report comes amid outrage at remarks by Ahmadinejad calling the Holocaust a myth, and a warning from Tehran on Friday that it would respond in a swift and destructive way if attacked by Israel.
