In my opinion, most journalists today seem to me to have made lateral career moves from selling used cars into journalism.
Watching their antics at WH press briefings; they appear angry and insolent for no reason other than they perceive this WH is not giving them the "respect" they feel they deserve.
Pick up any Newspaper and you can almost see the anger at this WH dripping out of articles.
The method of operation is take anything President Bush says then run a story with a journalists take on the factual accuracy of what the President said, never mind we are depending on the motives and accuracy of this used-car-salesmen-turned-journalists telling us what the "facts" are or are not in a manner primarily used to sell "slightly used cars" to the gullible.
Sorry journalists; there is a REASON America rates you towards the bottom in credibility and respect and that is because you deserve NONE.
Are you listening Newseek? NYT? Washington Post? Newspapers? Maybe if you were listening your circulations would not be tanking.
Breaking News, thy name is NOT vanity.
Good rant, though. :)
You said something very important, I've lived long enough to observe that the quality of "journalists" is now atrocious. There was a time when most of them had been trained following our armies around during WWII. They're just models and news readers now - left wing ones for the most part.
My gosh! The push is on to return Sen. Clinton back to power and thus W, ACTUAL conservatives, and Christians MUST be pilloried ASAP to change the SHeeples opinion in the direction the uppers have already planned out years ago.
It'd be nice if they first showed the President some respect.
darn. I just meant to check the vanity box.
Compare that to David Gregory, George Stephanopolous, etc.
I wish GWB would give a speech with quotes from the opposition that predicted doom and gloom then show what happened. This should take the air out of a few wind bags.
If Bush is elected for a second term there will be a draft in Jan 2005. http://talkleft.com/new_archives/008305.html
If Bush is elected abortion will be criminalized http://www.buzzflash.com/interviews/04/02/int04008.html
If Bush is elected Alec Baldwin and Kim Bassinger will leave the country. http://www.ananova.com/entertainment/story/sm_62812.html
If Bush is elected affirmative action, and other civil rights legislation long cherished by the African American community would disappear. So would a women's right to choose. http://www.house.gov/conyers/pr110100.htm
If Bush is elected rape will be legal. http://michellemalkin.com/archives/000603.htm
Just to mention a few.
I think it is especially ridiculous to see a pack of wolves harassing the White House press secretary. What possible good does that do? It just makes Mr Gregory look like a bully imho.
Rush was fantastic yesterday. He was talking about how the MSM has given up trying to be fair and appeal to the public; they are going for the smaller audience and are now just writing for each other.
He said the people at Time write for those at Newsweek and vice versa.
There is genuine censorship going on in the media, ladies and gentlemen. They are actually censoring news now in order to publish propaganda. It has never been more obvious to me that we are now living in two different worlds.
So called journalist today are like lawyers if they had to really work for a living they would go on welfare or become panhandlers. They certainly are not fit for anything else of a productive nature.
I'm all for the first amendment but today's "journalists" should have to have most of their "stories" reclassified as political advertising to be published.
LOL! THAT'S what I say when they (the left) try to engage me in debate: "If Bush is so dumb, how is it that he's been kicking your butt all over hell's nine acres in the political arena? HMMMM?"
