You mean the game where the ref's gave a fumble and a touchdown to Texas?

That game?

*smile

Yeah, the one where the Longhorns beat the Condoms 41-38 ... that game.

did you ever see the 'facemask' play on replay? I did not.....

They did show it and it should have be 15 yards for a flagrant foul.

Whoa Nelly! Keith Jackson has lost it. But it was a great game anyway.

Look at Lee Corso on the sideline as VY runs in.

Let's be done with this cause my point is that one incident led directly to 6 points being awarded where the other did not.

The way Texas was moving the ball it would be a good bet that they would have scored (since his knee went down on about the 10 yard line). USC did eventually score when they wouldn't have if the refs would have made the correct call on the interception.

Still you have to wonder what the outcome would have been without all the freebies for Texas.....

Somewhere in the neighborhood of ...

Texas 41
USC 38

Get over it glasseye ...

Entrepreneur ... you stated :

Texas consistently gets extremely lucky calls (e.g., Kansas a couple of years ago, vs A&M this year, the Rose Bowl, etc.). The false TD forever taints this win.

and ...

Of course, their DBs got away with murder all night. The spearing and other cheap shots were near criminal and should have resulted in player ejections

So I took a look at your profile where you say ...

Did I mention I'm a Texas Aggie?

Tells me everything I need to know about you and about your opinion concerning the Longhorn's victory

If I may join this exchange....LSU (and I won't make excuses for them re: Katrina), scored 38 points against ASU, as did USC. USC, however, was well into their season and should have been more in tune than was LSU in their first game of the season...

So, in a nutshell, LSU did JUST as well against ASU as did USC.

Texas won, I think USC got robbed.

Those views are not mutually exclusive, IMHO.

The first one is fact

As for the second one, as soon as you wipe the whiney pathetic tears out of your eyes ... look again at the first one.

No, that was two years ago...

They lost any claim this year by allowing an inept Tennessee team come back and beat them.

Good for your math. Tell that to every major newspaper and sportswriter that referred to USC as back to back national champs.

Oh my gosh, you forgot David Letterman and John Kerry on your list of references. Haven't you learned that Rats lie and rewrite history to reflect their politically correct wishes. The fact is the recent BCS champions are LSU, USC and UT. There was no chance of a three peat, because there was no two peat. Surely you didn't swallow that "best team ever" and that "best coach ever" garbage spewed by the rat media.

gave up 31 points and 560 yards on offense (including 461 yards passing) against a middle of the pack PAC 10 school

Ahh you mean the game that LSU played after having to share thier Dorm Rooms with Hurricane refugees, being unable to practice for over a week because thier stadium was being used by FEMA, had to move thier HOME GAME to Arizona St, then had thier only practices on a high school field for 2-3 days before the Ariz St. Game.

A game which they also happened to win despite all that?

Is that the game to which you refer? Yeah, that is a real fair assessment of LSU.

“Surely you didn't swallow that "best team ever" and that "best coach ever" garbage spewed by the rat media.”

You are so right...the media really poured it on...

It reminds me of a number of years ago when Sports Illustrated had Nebraska on the cover with the headline. "Could This Be The Best College Team Ever?"

They lost to Miami in the bowl, down 28-0 at half.

He is talking about the game at ASU where LSU, in their first game before fine tuning, scored 38 points against ASU, which is the same number of points mighty USC scored against them in MID SEASON after having weeks to get up to speed.

Did anyone stay up last night to see the rioting, complete with looting and burning? Oh that's right, we don't do that here in Texas.

But 6th Street was rockin'

Bottom line, USC wasn't playing in the PAC-10 for this game." Don't give me the PAC 10 baloney. SC beat Big 10 teams the past two years. They could just as easily have won this game. They beat themselves.

No, they were beaten by a Longhorn team that sacked up on 4th and 2 so VY could shove the ball down their throats for the win.

He'd still have won. If it weren't for that rotten call on the VY pitch where his knee was clearly down (should have been reviewed) no one would be talking VY today!

USC was robbed.

Ah, a late comer to the Weeping, Wailing and Gnashing of Teeth Festival
