I never had much use for Joe Biden, and enjoyed as much as the next Freeper the ribbing he's taken over his record-breaking bloviation at the Alito hearings.
But while never high, my regard for him has just sunk much, much lower.
Wolf Blitzer just interviewed Biden in the context of the poignant scene of Mrs. Alito crying during the today's hearings when Sen. Graham recounted some of the unfair intimations of bigotry that the Dems leveled at Alito.
To Wolf's credit, he played more than once the footage of Mrs. Alito's distress. I would note that at least twice in the last week or so Rush Limbaugh has mentioned his respect for Blitzer.
In any case, Biden was clearly on the spot, and began with some vague generalities about the need to find a better way to determine a nominee's views than the current confirmation process.
But within seconds, Biden went on the attack, essentially blaming Alito for his wife's tears. He effectively accused Alito of lying about his knowledge of the activities of CAP, the Princeton alumni group of which he was a nominal member. In this way, he justified the harsh line of questioning by Kennedy and others that ultimately left Mrs. Alito in tears.
Well, what's sauce for the goose, etc. After all, we all remember the nasty, partisan attacks to which Senate Republicans subjected Ruth Bader Ginsburg and Stephen Breyer.
Oh, wait. There were no such attacks. The Republicans were perfect gentlemen. Confirmation blood sport is strictly a Dem game. Despicable.
I really enjoyed one of Rush's discussions today. It was pointed out that the treatment of Judge Alito, sitting, unable to move, bombarded with questioning for hours would constitute torture by the current Democrat definition.
Must be on the wire that way
Biden should get a real job.......cleaning toilets in McDonalds.
He can fill one......but I doubt he has the ability to clean one!
Biden has two moving parts; the "Clymer" and the mouth, they are interchangeable.
Also remember that most all radio newsreaders do is read off the AP wire, literally.
Hissy Matthews played this clip as well. The analysis was that it was just terrible that BOTH SIDES made these hearing so hard on families and nominees. I just don't recall anything similar in the hearings for Breyer and Ginsberg.
This idiot's e-mail/phone should be bombarded with angry voters and I plan to start the ball rolling!
Biden is a jackass, a liar and a disgrace.
On his good days.
He can only do that because he copyed all of that from
Ted Kennedy...other than that he's a worm.
I wish he'd move his two "moving parts" to another country.
Doon't you mean cleaning toilets at Princeton.
If it's guilt by association, someone should bring up Senator Byrd.
Chena thumps herself on the head. lol ;)
You're giving him way too much credit!
How do you feel about KSKY dumping Bill Bennett for Mike Gallagher?
KSKY's management IMHO are morons.
They recently eliminated the 2nd most thoughtful talk radio program (Bill Bennett) from their lineup, and reduced the most thoughtful program (Dennis Prager) down to 2 hours.
They also tape delay Hugh Hewitt so they can broadcast that embarrassment "Michael Savage" live.
When they were thinking of making these changes I sent them two very long letters objecting to the change and received the SAME boilerplate response back TWICE.
Now I listen on the internet instead of on KSKY.
That's ok, you done good anyway! LOL
prolly ;)
Gallagher is the blowhard that people who have never listened to Rush accuse him of being. Really - who likes Gallagher, and why?
>>Was it the local news guy or the ABC feed? "
I thought it might be ABC, so I listened carefully to find out. It was KSKY, a Salem broadcasting station. They are the Dallas affilliate who carry Laura Ingraham, Bill Bennett, Michael Medved, Michael Savage, etc.
Unreal.
Good on you for writing the letter...whether the reporting was bias or incompetence, it was reprehensible.
