"Hillary ... will bring out voters in the Republican and conservative base like nothing else will."

You are exactly correct!! Rush mentions this all the time. It's that "silent majority" who will crawl over glass to vote.

But then she appeared with Harry Belafonte at some benefit and I am sure that she is back in their good graces.

THE ABSURDITY OF A COMMANDER-IN-CHIEF HILLARYbump

December 7, 1941+64

AN OPEN LETTER TO TIM ROBBINS, DAVID GEFFEN, CHRIS MATTHEWS, MAUREEN DOWD + JEANINE PIRRO

RE: a not-so-modest proposal concerning hillary clinton

Dear Concerned Americans,

Hillary Clinton's revisionist tome notwithstanding, 'living history' begets a certain symmetry. It is in that light that I make this not-so-modest proposal on this day, exactly 64 years after the attack on Pearl Harbor.

The context of our concern today--regardless of political affiliation--is Iraq and The War on Terror, but the larger fear is that our democracy may not survive.

We have the requisite machines, power and know-how to defeat the enemy in Iraq and elsewhere, but do we have the will?

In particular, do we have the will to identify and defeat the enemy in our midst?

Answerable to no one, heir apparent in her own mind, self-serving in the extreme, Hillary Clinton incarnates this insidious new threat to our survival.

What we decide to do about Missus Clinton will tell us much about what awaits us in these perilous new times.

hillary dumps Geena for Maggie,1 and when that doesn't fly,2 she dumps Maggie for bill. Without missing a beat.

It's the old Dick Morris Hail Mary pass, (when in trouble, triangulate3), the once trusty play that for eight years kept two clumsy kleptocrats4 in the Oval Office and out of the slammer (even as it placed America and Americans in ever-increasing peril.)5

That missus clinton has managed, thereby, to stake out Iraqi territory occupied apparently by no one6 seems to have escaped her notice. Nonetheless, this constituency of zero is the least of her troubles.

Yes, but if Rudy GUiliani runs on the Republican ticket, then she can't even be guaranteed New York OR New Jersey and that will overset any losses Rudy might take from conservatives who won't vote for him...

"They are hoping she will pick off a number of undecided votes and all the liberals will vote for her. Then she wins. At least that's the plan as I see it."

My long-held belief is that Hillary will somehow play a part in getting a third-party center-to-right candidate ala Perot-type so as to take votes away from the middle and a little from the right. 1992/1996 redux triangulation strategy.

but unlike her husband who was equally calculating, she lacks his charm and appearance of sincerity. One problem Clinton has is that no one likes her.

Which is exactly why she will not win especially among married women.

These liberals know what they see is not the real Hillary. They pretend to hate her since they know she is totally unprincipled and will play conservative (wink-wink) just to win the Presidency

That is my thinking also. She is trying to take a page out of her husband's book and pretend to be a centrist. Her left knows the game plan, we know the game plan, but are the moderates of either party aware?

Clinton had to persuade the largely conservative voters of New York State to elect her

New York voters are CONSERVATIVE? In what universe? The only congresscritter that is even CLOSE to being conservative is Vito Fossella, and he has an ACU rating in the 70s/80s.

Too true, but at least she understands that elections are won and lost in the middle

Bullsh-t! The 2000 and 2004 elections were decided by a higher than average turnout of conservative voters. The centrists had ZERO influence on the last two presidential elections.

If Rudy is opposes her in '08, she would lose both states. She is a truly repellent candidate.

Most conservatives will vote for Rudy. In the end, terror-disaster competence will trump ideology.

(More upsetting was her consorting with Santorem, the Pennsylvania senator whom many Democrats see as the devil incarnate.)

From the article, all liberals are joining together, even holding their nose to vote for a pro-life candidate, just to defeat Santorum. It's time for us Conservatives to forgive him and support him. At the very least we love his voting record. We just hate that he supported Spectre. This is what's called a "sunk cost". Looking at it objectively, he is of much greater benefit to the Conservative cause than anyone the Dems will try to put in office. For heavens sake, we're not talking here about supporting a Chaffee who actually has a liberal voting record!

I think the writer needed to be more explicit and distinguish between the upper West Side types, that she spoke to for this column, from the rest of the state.

New York voters are CONSERVATIVE? In what universe? The only congresscritter that is even CLOSE to being conservative is Vito Fossella, and he has an ACU rating in the 70s/80s.

Check ACU. It's not that bad. You forgot Reynolds.

Still, as state that votes 72% for Schumer and by double digits for Clinton, Gore, and Kerry, aint "largely conservative" by any stretch of the imagination.

GEFFEN UNLOADS ON HILLARY: 'SHE CAN'T WIN'

DRUDGE REPORT
Thu Feb 17 2005 23:13:00 ET

Sen. Hillary Clinton should not count on help from Hollywood mogul David Geffen in her possible run for the White House.

Geffen, who was a generous supporter and pal of Bill Clinton when he was president, trashed Hillary's prospects last night during a Q&A at the 92nd St. Y in New York City.

"She can't win, and she's an incredibly polarizing figure," the billionaire Democrat told his audience. "And ambition is just not a good enough reason."

Lloyd Grove reports in fresh editions of the NY DAILY NEWS the audience broke with "hearty applause" over Geffen's comments.

Clinton Administration Veteran:
"Hillary Rodham Clinton needs to be kept very far away from the White House for the rest of her life."

My two cents' worth--and I think it is the two cents' worth of everybody who worked for the Clinton Administration health care reform effort of 1993-1994--is that Hillary Rodham Clinton needs to be kept very far away from the White House for the rest of her life. Heading up health-care reform was the only major administrative job she has ever tried to do. And she was a complete flop at it. She had neither the grasp of policy substance, the managerial skills, nor the political smarts to do the job she was then given. And she wasn't smart enough to realize that she was in over her head and had to get out of the Health Care Czar role quickly.... there is no reason to think that she would be anything but an abysmal president.

Hillary Clinton?
Who would even know her name were it not for her attachment to a man?

Thank you, Gavin McNett, for your tribute to the incomparable Tammy Wynette. (TAMMY WYNETTE, 1942-1998)

Too many pundits, usually leftist and privileged, sneer at country music. To these critics, any music created by poor, Southern whites (at least those poor, Southern whites who didn't attend an Ivy League university) must be held in contempt, along with its correlatives: incest, racism and trailer parks.

Hillary Clinton? Who would even know her name were it not for her attachment to a man? Where would she be now if she as a child had to pick cotton from sun up to sun down?

Tammy Wynette stands alone, a legend; and she will be admired wherever people appreciate the honesty of the human experience. Human beings are vulnerable. We all should be thankful to any artist courageous enough to bare her soul on the public stage so the rest of us who are listening and know whereof she speaks might benefit.

According to published reports this morning, Hillary went out of her way to avoid and ignore Belafonte at that NYC event. Her attempts to appease the "middle" and conservatives are so glaringly obvious.

Hillary may have tried to avoid Bellafonte, but she did nothing to refute or disown his statements. Hillary remained silent when Bellafonte reaffirmed the statements that he made in Venezuela.

Hillary is desperately hoping we'll all forget her Marxist past (meaning, everything she's held dear for the past 40 years or so).
