91,700 abortions in (NYC)city [40 out of 100 pregnancies ended in a planned abortion]
NY DAILY NEWS ^ | January 15, 2006 | BY PAUL H.B. SHIN

For every 100 babies born in New York City, women had 74 abortions in 2004, according to newly released figures that reaffirm the city as the abortion capital of the country. And abortions for out-of-town women performed in the city increased from 57 to 70 out of every 1,000 between 1996 and 2004, a subtle yet noticeable trend that experts say may reflect growing hurdles against the procedure in more conservative parts of the country.

The new Vital Statistics report released by the city Department of Health this month shows there were 124,100 live births, 11,700 spontaneous abortions and 91,700 induced abortions in the city in 2004. That means 40 out of 100 pregnancies in the city ended in a planned abortion - almost double the national average of 24 of 100 pregnancies in 2002, estimated by the Alan Guttmacher Institute, a Manhattan-based nonprofit group that researches reproductive health issues.

If the national birth rate is still 2.1 births ..

The demoncrats must be down to around 1 while republican must be at like 3 !

We are out multiplying them by 3 times !

Won't take long for demoncrats to become extinct at that rate.

quote from article "The Center for Reproductive Rights, an abortion-rights advocacy group, estimates that if Roe vs. Wade were overturned, abortions would likely be banned in 21 states, with the procedure at "medium risk" of being prohibited in another nine states. "

LOL by their own numbers 60% of the states would outlaw abortion ! meanwhile they are still insisting that the majority of Americans support abortion.... Laughable!

BINGO!

We have aborted 42,000,000 of our children, who would have inherited this country of ours.

We have imported 30,000,000+ illegal workers into our country, who are having children, who love them, who raise them, and who also bring in more relatives to do the work that needs to be done in this nation, and to support our elderly with their efforts.

QUESTION: Who will inherit America?

The left is the culture of death. Everything they do is in support of death.

The homosexual agenda, promoting homosexuality amongst children, works to prevent life by removing the ability to procreate. Supporting murderers and dictators supports people who remove life. Abortion is obvious. The list goes on.

I know precisely what it means.

My point was that his implication was erroneous.

There are a lot of "blue" states that have restrictive abortion laws, e.g. Michigan, Pennsylvania, and now-unfortunately-New Hampshire, which is becoming increasingly more like its NE neighbor, Massachusetts.

It's a great story but it is not me. It tells who it is in the second line.

Do you know if this statement is correct?
An abortion will occur approximately every 25 seconds in the U.S.... >>>

If my math is right, I would say YES.
0.95129 babies born every 25 seconds and if you round up, the answer would be 1.

Actually, that number is for the amount of "surgical" abortions committed. It does not include the many lost other ways from medications, herbs, starvation, using the euphemism "induced labor" as many bad Catholic Hospitals do, and don't forget the many, many lost through IVF or in-vitro fertilization where most implanted don't make it and where many are frozen for years.

Is the old euphemistic expression, "She went to visit her aunt" now the equivalent to, "She went on a shopping spree in NYC?"

What a world.

*************

New Hampshire will continue to mimic Massachusetts as more and more citizens of MA infiltrate. Maine is also a very liberal state. So much for Yankee independence.

Yes, the destructive political tendencies of Bobo exiles from Massachusetts and New York are gradually, but inexorably, obliterating the underlying cultural and economic foundations of the Granite State.

The free state project was a great idea, unfortunately it never really got anywhere.

Red or Blue state... this means nothing. A person of principle won't do it. I used to counsel young women... one gal had a "gang rape" baby....

Gasp!

She was quite happy... many other gals, especially the Catholic gals, would be prep'ed to murder if someone mentioned or suggested they get an abortion.

The stupid and unprincipled masses can do as they please.

Btw, I'm have a blast today... and I don't think that other person woke up on the wrong side of the bed.... [rolls eyes]

I can't even quip... please come up with something better.

Cheers ... uh.. to stupid people getting abortions

You're spot-on. Liberals can abort all their children and will still be able to maintain their numbers simply by indoctrinating the children of conservatives in the public education system. There is no way my kids will go to public school. No way.

People have always "traveled" to get abortions. But, as the AMA discovered a hundred years ago, many "respectable" physicians performed abortions for their best patients, so very often they had to go no further than their family doctor's office. However it remained a dangerous procedure until the invention of penicillin in the 1940s. Antibiotics did not become readily available to the public until after WWII.

That's true. That's why, while we can't get statistics for abortion during the time it was illegal, you can draw some inference from old records, when "sepsis" was just listed as cause of death for women of childbearing age.

You're very welcome! I try to find images and political cartoons that accurately reflect the issue at hand in the articles I ping, if at all possible. I GREATLY appreciate the feedback... I sometimes wonder how many enjoy them as much as I do. But I've received no complaints yet, only thanks like yours. :) "It's my boat" is a keeper, to be sure... it certainly is accurate about this debate!
