52% of Americans: Impeach Bush on wiretaps (Zogby)

A new Zogby poll indicates a majority of Americans want Congress to consider impeaching President Bush if he wiretapped American citizens without a judge's approval.

Respondents were asked if they agreed or disagreed with the following statement:

"If President Bush wiretapped American citizens without the approval of a judge, do you agree or disagree that Congress should consider holding him accountable through impeachment."

The poll found that 52 percent agreed, 43 percent disagreed and 6 percent said they didn't know or declined to answer.

"The American people are not buying Bush's outrageous claim that he has the power to wiretap American citizens without a warrant," said Bob Fertik, co-founder of the left-leaning group AfterDowningStreet.org which commissioned the survey. "Americans believe terrorism can be fought without turning our own government into Big Brother."

The poll interviewed 1,216 adults in the U.S. from Jan 9-12, and has a 2.9 percent margin of error.

As one might expect, the respondents' political affiliation played a role in their answer, as 66 percent of Democrats favored impeachment, as did 59 percent of Independents, but only 23 percent of Republicans.

One month ago, one-third of Americans polled by Rasmuseen Reports said they believe Bush should be impeached.

Another case of a Zogby poll spiced up with his secret sauce.

Rasmussen is credible (sort of). Zogby is insane.

But THIS is what will make the front page in the MSM.

Lies always get full play with the leftist garbage slingers.

"As one might expect, the respondents' political affiliation played a role in their answer..." Yeah, I might expect that. I've been on Zogby's list to poll for over a year, and I consistently tell of my support for the President. Strange they didn't ask me about this.

A dodgy poll

Pollsters know who to poll. I've never gotten a call.

Many, many Americans are idiots, and have no idea what the laws are. They just parrot the sound bites from the media, then go have a beer.

Zogby hasn't just jumped the shark, the shark has jumped him.

This is complete trash.

Hmm. How many Democrats were polled, compared to Republicans and so-called "undecideds"?

Secret sauce = 45% dems, 20% indies, 35% pubbies

Add enough to any "poll" and you can get anything you want.

Didn't we just see a poll last week that said 64% supported the wiretaps? Bet Zogby didn't do that one.

Are we up to 99% agreement yet that Zogby would sell his sister, daughter, wife and grandmother if there's a buck to be made providing bogus polling information to willing Democratic media shills?

67% of Americans approve of the wiretaps, but 52% of the people Zogby polled want to impeach over them?

There is only ONE reason for this bogus poll, which is to give the MSM something more to talk about. This story was DYING. Credible polling suggests that the public is more concerned about their own security than the spying story.

Now, out of the goddamned blue, this "poll" appears. This makes me spitting mad, because it only undermines those working to keep this nation safe.

Ha! Didn't another poll say 60%+ of Americans supported the spying? Pfft!

Americans, distracted by INTENTIONALLY misleading talking heads on TV
and radio, filling out tax forms, dealing with Thanksgiving/Christmas/New Years, and paying for our growing nanny-state...
were just distracted enough to check the wrong box.

I'm sure Zogby thought long and hard and realized the polling question had
to be a stark "Yes" or "No" that would have been revealed as a "push poll"
upon presentation of further opinion and consideration that DEMOCRATIC
leaders went along with the program since it's inception.

Except for their little RAT-B@STARD, plausible-deniability, "I had reservations
from the start" letters they put in safes for a future release date.
(This was the case with Senator Rockefeller)

Look at the question;

"If President Bush wiretapped American citizens without the approval of a judge, do you agree or disagree that Congress should consider holding him accountable through impeachment."

It's out of context. I think they should ask:

If after a terrorist attack it was discovered that President Bush did nothing to intercept calls made by terrorists to American citizens that triggered the attack, should he be held accountable through impeachment.

At this point , I'd trust a Zogby poll as far as I can toss a Qu'ran.
