BS! Even Terry Kath's solo in "25 of 6 to 4" was superior to Jimmy Page's sloppy work on Stairway. Jeff Baxter's solo on Donna Summer's "Hot Stuff" was better than Stairway for Crissake.

Where is Wes Montgomery? Where is Django Reinhardt?

Stevie Ray Vaughan not even in the top ten? Please. He was better than every one of them. Eric Clapton and Jimmy Page are both overrated.

Best guitar solo = Rocky Top by Chet Atkins (I don't think even Stevie Ray could do that).

Hendrix's solo on the Warner live double album version of "Hear My Train a Comin'" is, without question, the most incredible solo in the history of rocknroll.

David Gilmour has hit many out of the park, as well.

In Jazz, Joe Pass and Django Reinhardt laid down some unbelievable solos every time they sat down to play.

And in the Blues, Elmore James' solo on "Twelve Year Old Boy" is the gold standard.
