REDACTION LOOPHOLE: ACCESS TO THE BARRETT REPORT

by Mia T, 01.20.06

he judges who ostensibly redacted 120 pages of the Barrett report established a means by which the American people can see those redactions: Any member of Congress can legally request access to the redactions and can publish them..

The serious '"culture of corruption" in the clinton DOJ and IRS that is detailed by the report makes one wonder about the nature of the crimes and abuse that the clintons felt compelled to redact.

Even a small subset of what we do know about the redactions argues for their immediate disclosure by Congress. (Only in the surreal world of the clintons would someone suggest with a straight face that disclosure of the crime of obstruction of justice is precluded by privacy considerations.)

We know that clinton pettifoggers labored mightily and long to gut and bury this report with some 140 motions, sleights of hand... and, when necessary, the clintons' heavy hand.

We know that charges of the clintons' retaliatory IRS audits of both their political foes and their victims of rape and predation are said to be included in the redacted material.

The mutual protection racket writ large is apparently alive and well in DC. (Is Filegate rearing its ugly head yet again?)

We mustn't let Congress get away with this coverup. Call. E-mail. Fax. Don't let up.

And remember the responses on Election Day.

AN OPEN LETTER TO TIM ROBBINS, DAVID GEFFEN, CHRIS MATTHEWS, MAUREEN DOWD + JEANINE PIRRO

RE: a not-so-modest proposal concerning hillary clinton

Dear Concerned Americans,

Hillary Clinton's revisionist tome notwithstanding, 'living history' begets a certain symmetry. It is in that light that I make this not-so-modest proposal on this day, exactly 64 years after the attack on Pearl Harbor.

The context of our concern today--regardless of political affiliation--is Iraq and The War on Terror, but the larger fear is that our democracy may not survive.

We have the requisite machines, power and know-how to defeat the enemy in Iraq and elsewhere, but do we have the will?

In particular, do we have the will to identify and defeat the enemy in our midst?

Answerable to no one, heir apparent in her own mind, self-serving in the extreme, Hillary Clinton incarnates this insidious new threat to our survival.

What we decide to do about Missus Clinton will tell us much about what awaits us in these perilous new times.

What are they hiding, and why?

I wonder if there is even one Congressman who cares, let alone 200.

bump.

The term 'members of Congress' includes senators. ANY SENATOR CAN PUBLISH THE REDACTIONS

We must vote out the professional politician. The citizen-politician is what the founders had in mind....

Those who can, do. Those who can't but lust for power and glory, become professional politicians.

"What are they hiding, and why?"

They are hiding the fact that we do not have a two party system in our government today. Legislators are deceitfully following the (renamed) New World Order Plan that goes all the way back to the League of Nations.

Continually decreasing the size of our military, bases and number of personel is the most obvious of this. Our national park system is under the control of the United Nations. Then we have Agenda 21 on top of that.

The most difficult of all is trying to get American citizens/taxpayers/voters to see the obvious. I love the way FReepers jump all over the New York Times and the MSM when the truth is right in front of their noses!

FDR warned us that nothing happens in government or economics that isn’t planned.

“What luck for the rulers that men do not think.” ~~Adolf Hitler

Let me put my blinders back on and finish my coffee.

"We must vote out the professional politician."

Politicians are a 'Me first' group, statesmen are "My country first" crowd, yet we continually elect politicians? Keep electing politicians and we won't even have a sovereign country pretty soon.

America has the corrupt government that the frightened, lazy people deserve. Being too lazy to protest or even vote has predetermined the crumbling of our nation.

Nothing happens in government without the support of the people.

"Is there one single member of Congress out of the entire 535 that is loyal enough to the American people that he will see this released in full?"

Too bad Traficant is in prison -- I bet he would!

Do you have anything to say about this BARRETT REPORT redaction?

Are you going to advise the Bush bots to stay hidden or protest and defeat Hillary today?

Now is good a chance to show that you are the courageous leader everyone says you are. Come on, bring the FReepers together and let's kick some ass while we have the club to do it with!

How about Congressman Salazar? He introduced the Stolen Valor Bill. That seems to be a very pro American move. I bet he would be understanding about getting this information.

This is the reason we must get rid of the careerist and replace him with the citizen-politician.

Amen, Mia T! Thanks for the information. Surely there is one who can stand for truth. Come on, FR, let's put the pressure on. Our money paid for this report.

My theory that the two parties are better friends to each other than either one is to the American people will have an excellent test in this one.

My theory is that since we have dirt on their side and they have dirt on our side, if both sides keep the secrets both sides will continue to live their lives of privilege and we will continue to pick up the tab.

I have in my bill in-box a plea from RNC for money...thanks for the idea...when you get some Congress Critter to release the full Barrett report then I will release some funds to you... BTW...I knew Dave Barrett years ago as a whore lawyer peddling influence in Washington...whored our group to the tune of 20 grand if memory serves me correctly.....but we did get to lift our legs with the big dogs at the 84 Republican convention in Dallas at the Mansion on Turtle Creek...WOW..was that money well spent or what!!

I just put up a file that prints three of the pseudo-bills on a single sheet of paper. A pretty high quality graphic, lots better than the posted .jpg. It will print out really nice.

Go to my FR profile for a link to the file if you (all) want to download it.

bump. the solution, therefore, is to vote out all careerists.

Careerists = entrenched power by definition

Any doubt about the truth of it?

Gee, let's ask Sandy Berger for the answer.

REDACTION LOOPHOLE: ACCESS TO THE BARRETT REPORT

by Mia T, 01.20.06

he judges who redacted 120 pages of the Barrett report have, if not a sense of justice, a sense of humor. In their rulings, they provide a mechanism by which the people can see the redactions, but for which at least one honest, selfless, courageous member of Congress is required.

The way it works: Any member of Congress can see the redactions simply by requesting access, and, unlike Barrett, can publish the redactions "without fear of legal sanction."1

The serious '"culture of corruption" in the clinton DOJ and IRS detailed by the Barrett report makes one wonder about the nature of the crimes and abuse that the clintons felt compelled to redact.

Even a small subset of what we do know about the redactions argues for their immediate disclosure by Congress. (Only in the surreal world of the clintons would someone suggest with a straight face that disclosure of the crime of obstruction of justice is precluded by privacy considerations.)
