An aging dominatrix cleared yesterday in the death and dismemberment of a man strapped to a torture rack called the ordeal “emotionally draining,” while the deceased’s elderly mother blamed the verdict on jury “liberals.”

“I just wish we could have gotten a little justice,” Audrey Lord said yesterday from her Texas home. “Some of those New Englanders are pretty wise but a lot are liberals. I sort of expected it.”

Well, she beat the rap. Looks like the jury spanked the prosecution. No need to whip up a frenzy over this.

"We'll see who's wearing the handcuffs now, won't we?"

The best line in the whole story.

No body.

Probably the reason there was no conviction.

Conviction requires "proof beyond a reasonable doubt".

That sure is the way it works here in Kalifornia.</ Sarcasm>

"Kind of hard to get a conviction with no body and a confession that no one bothered to tape."

A motive helps also. Why kill a paying customer? I did not read that she had a history of violence - at least nonconsensual violence. Also, not a really sympathetic victim. The jury probably didn't feel an urgent need to vindicate his right to be spanked, electrocuted and debased in a facility equipped with a defibrillator.

Apparently such things are legal in Massachusetts. Ah well, states rights, you know.
