Lay Off the Boy Scouts !!
I’ve had it with the vicious attacks on the Boy Scouts of America !
I’ve seen them called “ a Brownshirt Taliban” , “KKK for Kiddies”, and worse !
The main bone of contention seems to be that the organization uses its free association rights (upheld by the Supreme Court) to screen out potential Boy Scout leaders who are openly gay : a precaution most parents whole-heartedly endorse.
“This is discrimination !” , the protestors howl. “ There is no scientific evidence that gays are more likely to be pedophiles than heterosexuals are.”
I’ve looked at the available evidence, and tend to agree – but pedophilia is not the issue !
Pedophilia is the desire to have sex with very young children , and those who practice it are (statistically) male members of the immediate family , and juveniles.
From a Scouting perspective, the young boys at risk for pedophile molestation are Cub Scouts – who are usually well protected by Den Mothers. Cub Scouts are also quite a bit less likely to be far from home on extended camping trips.
The real issue is ephebophilia ( sometimes called hebephilia ) : the desire to have sex with young adolescents.
Ephebophilia is most notable among male homosexuals – many of whom see nothing wrong with having sex with a young adolescent male-whose sexual orientation is still somewhat amorphous.

If you would like to assess how widespread this disorder * is, I suggest you go to your favorite online search engine –eg: Google, Yahoo, or Jeeves – and type in the word “twinks”. (See how many entries you get. 100,000 or more is not improbable.)
A “twink” is a young boy – preferably about 14 years old – and one of the favorite pornography topics for male homosexuals (and others who frequent gay sex sites).
The Boy Scouts of America have been around for a very long time-and have had to deal with the problem of sexual abuse of young adolescents by older, homosexual leaders for a very long time.
One such “wave” of abuse occurred in my area about a generation ago,and created a major scandal. Right on the heels of this scandal,a trusted leader-not involved with the abuse, as far as I know- decided it would be a good time to “ come out of the closet “. ( Talk about really bad timing !)
The organization dropped him like a hot potato . He took them to court and lost-and lost-and lost: all the way up to the top.
Since then,assorted civil liberties groups , gay advocacy groups , and ideologues of various stripes have harrassed the Boy Scouts like a swarm of gnats: pressuring everybody who will listen to them to penalize the Scouts for making the safety of their membership more important than soothing the ruffled feathers of those most likely to do harm.
I guess this is what passes for civil rights now !
* note: The American Psychiatric Association still classifies ephebophilia as a “disorder” – but just barely. It seems the problem is so common among gays , it has become “normal”.

Queers will say or do anything to get what they want - and what they want is our children. Fags want your son, lesbians want your daughter. If they can get to them while they are still mentally and emotionally immature, but physically "nubile", they figure they've got a shot at turning them into their playthings. They couldn't care less about the damage they might do as long as they get theirs. They are disgusting.
Homosexuals try to get access to young boys through other organizations as well such as big-brother and other mentoring programs. The laws should be such that these organizations can screen out potential predators.

So that's how "normal" is defined...hmmm, i always wondered who and how anyone came up with what's "normal"...now i know... when we, the people, have a "problem", all we've gotta do is show there's ALOT of people with that "problem" and it's not a "problem" anymore, then it gets reclassified as "normal". So if enough twisted people are pedophiles then it's not a problem, it's normal!

Let's agree with the ACLU and allow male homosexual scoutmasters.
Provided the ACLU and their financial backers agree to personally indemnify the Boy Scouts against all monetary damages from any pedophilia suits, and related expenses.
Down to the last penny. Out of their own private pockets.

My sister-in-law is a flaming liberal. When she asks what I want for Christmas I tell her "simply a donation, of any amount, in my name, to the Boy Scouts of America." Man does she end up fuming over that! Needless to say she has never given me the Christmas present that I have asked for.

I knew a guy who was married to a woman and he would come to a pet store I worked at about 15 yrs ago. He became friends with a number of men and women who worked at our store because he was always there. Once or twice, me and another guy would go to a football game or something with this guy and his wife. Never once did he act gay or hit on me (sexy 21 yr old that I was). He was very, very much into chicks - you could just tell, he didn't act overt about it but you could see him watching a lady's ass as she moved through a crowd.
Well, one day I came to work and there were cops talking to the manager. When they left, the manager told me that the cops were looking for him because he was touching GIRLS in the store - little girls. Rubbing their shoulders while they looked at fish or rabbits or whatever. I was floored - this was a nice guy. Anyway, later that day his wife shows up in tears and asked if I knew where he was. I was like "no, but I'm sure he didn't do it" and she laughed at me and said "of course he did, this isn't the first time...".
My point here, besides an interesting tale that opened my eyes to people a little, is that its not a gay thing (necessarily). I think gay men may have a higher inclination towards this kind of behavior, but if so I don't think it is by that much. People don't line up according to our carefully drawn paradigms, which is why sociology is more alchemy than science.
Not trying to change the subject or divert the thread, but I love how these lefties pick and choose. They make this "no scientific evidence" claim where they wish to further their agenda, but, as in the case of smoking bans, "scientific evidence" says their is no credible link to second hand smoke and cancer, it goes totally ignored and is stated as a "scientific fact."
Junk science and any science that futhers their agenda seems to be their replacement for God.
This is a much needed topic to be examined...

Executive board member of my local council, Eagle Scout, Philmont Staffer, National Jamboree Staffer, Wood Badge Staffer, Silver Beaver, Vigil, in the OA, etc. etc. etc. Let's just say I've been there, done that, and got the T-shirt when it comes to the great Worldwide Scouting Movement envisioned by Lord Baden-Powell of Gilwell. One short true story to add to this discussion. We had to deal with the media at the National Jamboree back in 1997, when we had a "sicko" that would pretend to be a media "type" with his roving camera, and was trying to "interview" the scouts to get their hometown info. We actually had to defend ourselves to the media AT THE JAMBOREE, to say we were going to check ALL the media out each day while we were looking for this predator-
We never found him...as far as I know he could still be out there- It seems the people who want to be validated by gaining membership in the BSA are the very people who want to also destroy the movement by that very act. I also have it on good authority that the day the BSA is forced to accept "Gay" leaders the way the Girl Scouts of America seem to now, that's the day the Mormon church will yank all the charters of EVERY Troop and Pack in every ward in America. It would be the end of the BSA.
God Bless the supreme court for buying a little more time for Scouting with their 5-4 decision. We in Scouting are living on borrowed time. Many United Ways also have stopped their financial support, and school boards don't allow recruiting in schools each fall due to this "topic"...
For the movement-
I don't see how any of us can make this assertion. A homosexual in San Francisco went fourty miles out of his way to befriend my family (with two young boys, myself and my brother). He offered me a job to get me to ride back to SF where he took me to lunch at a gay place to show his friends how cool he was. (Yes I was molested, as my parents were oblivious to his behavior -- later we learned he molested my brother too) The point is that as young guys, we were open to new sexual experiences. I was also a scout, but did not report these events at the time. Today's scouts are better prepared as this warning comes with "The Handbook for Boys". One real reason the homosexuals confront the scouts is this improvement in readiness on the part of the BSA. It is a direct defense against a behavior that I consider very prevalent in the homosexual community. I don't even think they think twice about it, it is not a forced molestation, but a learning experience, their wisdom to the uninitiated that may be mutually satisfying after all.
