Yeah this is real news worthy, unlike the WAR. Stupid MSM.

"It's not like he drove off a bridge and left a woman to drown in his car," commented Matt Margolis on Blogs for Bush.

So, what did Cheney say to the victim -- "Better put some ice on that"?

The victim wasn't a personal friend. It looked like this was the first time they'd met.

You don't know what you are talking about. They are friends, and on TV they were showing pictures of the guy with Cheney at other events. This lawyer is a bigtime Republican donor and a friend of the VP.

What is the bag limit in Texas for lawyers?

I hope Cheney tagged him before he went to the Hospital, Texas DNR can be really fussy about that...

Alexander Hamilton was ineligible to be US President as he was born in the West Indies. Same reason Kissinger, Albright couldn't be president.

Just sit back and have a good chuckle at Cheney's expense -- and thank God the fellow was not critically injured.

I never realized that it was a big deal until this weekend.

As anyone who ever watched the MSM knows, Republican politicians are held to a standard of perfection that God himself could not meet.

Then, when they fail, the media has a field day.

That being said, it looks like The VP made a mistake here. Gee, he's human. Imagine that.

Just heard on the local FOX news channel
...Cheney is the 3rd VP to shoot somebody.

1) Aaron Burr, under Jefferson, shot and killed Alexander Hamilton in that famous duel
2) Richard Johnson under somebody...shot a famous Indian Chief.

I heard that on Fox, too, so I looked it up. Richard M. Johnson was vice president under Martin Van Buren (1837-1841), and during his political career he was renowned as the man who shot Indian leader Tecumsah during a battle in the War of 1812. But there's no record of him shooting anybody while he was vice president.

There's being shot and there's being really shot. I never was hit bad enough to even seek medical care, much less hospitalization. A little blood once in awhile, but usually just a welt or less.

Most of them occurred at big dove hunting events put on by oil service companies like Schlumberger or Halliburton, where inexperienced hunters were all over the place. I'd head into a sunflower patch to retrieve a bird, and some bozo would shoot at a bird lighting on a stalk right in my vicinity.

Before I claim to be perfect, I did shoot my best friend while were both in the same sunflower patch retrieving downed birds, and neither of us knew the other was there. We retrieved one pellet from his scalp, and I felt bad about that until he shot me way worse a couple of weeks later.

If it were Ted Kennedy doing the shooting, you know we would be having a field day with this.

I doubt that many Freepers, having been well versed in gun safety, would be having a field day if Al Gore, Ted Kennedy or John Kerry had shot his hunting partner.

I would guess that MANY presidents and VPs have shot people BEFORE they were in office. Certainly Washington, Andrew Jackson, Sherman, Teddy Roosevelt, Eisenhower, etc.

I've probably been shot ten times.

Ok i think its way past time for you to get a new hunting partner or learn to duck faster :-)

I think I've learned to duck faster. I don't think I've been shot since the late 1980s. Incidental spray from a high shot returning to earth doesn't count.
