I just heard from a local radio reporter (during Rush newsbreak at approximately 1:00 p.m) that Whittington "may have taken a turn for the worse," and was put back into intensive care.
Did Chris Matthews get it -- or did it float right over his head. I got sick of all the talk shows last night and finally watched Anderson Cooper, who was talking about something other than this shooting accident.
I disagree, and most bipartisan observers in DC believe that Gore would have brought in his own people had he become President upon a Clinton resignation, which was clearly justified and should have occurred.
Do you really believe that if Gore had been the incumbent President in November 2000, that he would have lost the election to Governor Bush?
Terror plots are foiled all the time, even under Democratic presidents. According to many sources, Bush and his team were close on the heels of unraveling 9-11. Part of their difficulty was that they had been in power for less than 9 months, compounded by an abbreviated transition period.
Had Gore been President during 1999-2000, then elected to a full term in November 2000, who knows? Perhaps 9/11 would not have occurred. Probably not, but we'll never know.
Cheney being drunk has been floated or insinuated from the left today and yesterday on several radio stations (Jay Severin) and (John Dipitro) here in Boston alone.
This says more about their own behavior than Cheney's. Getting drunk and shooting someone would be the stupid behavior that they would do and assume other people would be guilty as well.
;-)
who are the dear girls?
Good!
Tigers don't change their stripes just because we move them. Gore is -- well, Gore is Gore and I thank God he wasn't President on 911 --
Sounds to me that Larry, an intellectual lightweight, is suffering from Ivy Envy.
I concur. I am glad that Gore was not President on 9/11.
Or on any day. Ever.
I'd say the press knows this and they know full well what they are doing this week with this story that fell right into their laps.
As much as I cannot stand him, actually Chris was better than usual last night. He actually was relatively even-headed about the matter.
But then Ron Reagan was coming on the show, and I had to go get the barf bag!
;-)
You should take the time to read the whacked out liberal book he wrote published well before ever running with Clinton as VP. Gore is as he was, it was just kept hidden during his VP years probably by those who had some common sense.
He runs everything he touches into the ground. Look at West Wing, liberal but somewhat interesting until they made the changes that put O'Donnell in charge and he ran it into the ground. The last straw was the hiring of Janine Gerapalo (sp).
Good, I'm glad we agree.
Probably because he was stinging from the b!tchslapping he got at the start of the program from former Wyoming Senator, and close friend and hunting partner of Cheney, Alan Simpson.
I wondered where RR was, didn't hear him commenting at Westminster.
Cheney drinking anything in combination with his heart medication is a stretch.
Highly unlikely.
Did you read that Paramount has agreed to distribute Al Gore's new movie???
Sheesh, from the way the press was reacting you'd think that Cheney left his "friend" to die while he took the ferry home and called his politcal operatives to clean up the mess the next day.
This is getting bad.
If the guy dies or goes into a long-term coma, it may be a political Chernobyl for the administration.
Quite unfairly, but voters are not really fair, particularly when the Democratic media go to work on them, as we can be absolutely certain they would.
That thought crossed my mind, too; plus he is too serious to drink before going out hunting and in Texas he would have more than likely had a glass of tea.
Yeah, it's called Earth In The Balance.
"Would it be steel or lead shot?
If it is lead shot, whould it also (GASP!) have ARSENIC &/or BISMUTH as a hardening additive?"
Just a thought, but generally lead shot is just that, plain lead. Gives it more throw at the little birdies. Bismuth is a shot alternative where lead is not allowed.

I wish Scottie would have said that to Gregory. Maybe some swift-on-their-feet Freepers should send Scott a list of comebacks.
Yes, there's hope. He has been drifting that way since we've gotten married. He's a college professor and he's more and more getting the feedback from his associates at lunch that he's being brainwashed by his conservative wife. LOL. Good.
Yes ................. see # 945
Cheney is not to blame in any moral sense, but he handled this with poor political judgment. The "bunker mentality" can be very dangerous. I love the guy, but he needs to think about how people "think" in today's culture.
Didn't a lot of cowboys die of lead poisoning back in the 'old days.'
Chris has great moments of clear thinking.
Bullitt
Thanks for clarification.
I hate that our President (and VP) have to think defensively in their decision-making, but they really do and unless the schools change, and the journalism environment with it, if the GOP remains in power then we have to get used to preempting the MSM and outflank them.
;-)
Utter nonsense. The American people understand that accidents happen. They have them in their own lives.
NO ONE cares out side the Junk Journalists world. They are LAUGHING about it. The ONLY people who care about this are the Junk Journalists because their over inflated egos are in a snit. Please do NOT take this nonsense seriously. It is just like the Fitzmus reporting, the Army bogged down in Iraq, Abu Graibe, Rathergate and all the dozens of other NON stories the Junk Media have hyperventilated about. The Junk Journalists talk to less people each week then the top 10 Talk Radio hosts. THEY are irrelevant. Please do NOT be so absurd as to assign them power THEY DO NOT HAVE
His GOP brother is running for office in MD, can it be he is moderating so he doesn't screw up his bro's chances?
~LOL~
Now Ari, he was good!
Bring Back Ari!
I actually think he's a decent man and cares about things. He just gets blinded by his fellow dems too much. I think his brother is also a local politico near here where I life (PA).
Ari was awsome. President Bush really needs another Ari.
I just don't get why Pres. Bush keeps Scott on. He's not very good. I also think it's interesting that his father was tied so closely to LBJ. Intergeneraltional transition.
It is PA instead of MD, isn't it...isn't her running with Lynn Swan?
I thought the WMD reveal was going to be on Wednesday. What do you know?
I have to catch up reading this thread.
UNinvited company popped in (I hate that...lol) and I just got rid of them. Graciously.
"BTW, thanks to the noise the media is making over this non-story Gore is getting away with his speech in Saudi Arabia, Iran is making the nuke, hearings are starting on Able Danger (a pre-Bush story) and tomorrow is the day we may finally find out the truth about where the WMD's all went...
I'd say the press knows this and they know full well what they are doing this week with this story that fell right into their laps."
No comment needed. Just the re-post of a well made point!
Kick them to the curb and HELP build up the new media by giving THEM the Junk Journalists access. The Junk Journalists live for access. Selling their product depends on getting info from the White House. The Admin should just kick these losers out. They are active enemies and should be cut right out of the loop. They have NO legal or moral authority. People have GOT to stop granting power to the failed Media it DOES NOT HAVE. Frankly people have to evolve out of their 1970s mindset. The Junk Journalists are not the 800 pound ape of your childhood. Right now they are surviving on inertia. There is a REASON their largest customer base is the over 55 demographic. The ONLY power they have is the one WE are granting them by taking their nonsense seriously!
