They would have had what they've been trying to djinn up right along--an actual legal reason for impeachment.
Personally, I do NOT rule out that they held back on helping their own constituents purely for the purpose of trying to lure Bush into doing something illegal out of pure frustration and compassion.

FWIW, my mother just told me that my very non-political brother was ranting about the way the media's running this story into the ground. He's a hunting and fishing nut, and he said "These two guys are just hunting buddies who had an accident, and these idiot reporters don't know what the h*ll they're talking about. They just don't realize how stupid they sound."
If somebody like my brother is having those thoughts, there's probably a lot more folks just like him out here in flyover country. Like Common Tator says, the MSM is out of touch with reality.
That's why Brit's zinger about telling the network guy who asked why Fox got the Cheney story that it must've been because Fox has the highest ratings was sooo sweet!
