Thank you for the explanation. I would hope that the gun dealers would be smart enough to say no deal in cases like that. Maybe it's a whole different ballgame there than it is up here, but it's like you're suggesting, the ATF are going way too far here.

You are welcome, NRA member. I'm one too.

Hon. Meehan (D) Massachusetts, 5th Hon. Delahunt (D) Massachusetts, 10th

Nice to see these two, with their NRA "F" ratings, are on the subcommittee.

Some states require permits to carry concealed but not to own them.

California does (at least that's what they told me). And I have to pass a test to buy one, though I've had guns since I was 3 and am a lifelong member of the NRA. BUT, I gotta go on THEIR lists. And I sure as hell don't want that. *FEH* I found this out when I went to a VERY sparsely held gun show a few weeks ago in San Diego. It stank.

In the end, nothing will change. Congress will allow the ATF to do whatever the hell they want as long as they keep it quiet.

Barney Fife is more competent then the ATF in a fire-fight.

David Koresh sort of proved that, didn't he?

Maybe GHWB needs to read this. This behavior - documented widely - would be one of many reasons the ATF gets called names.

Looks like some of Xlinton's fools are still around!! You'd think that remembering Randy Weaver and Waco would have straightened out the minds of any radicals in the Fed's stormtroopers.

I don't see how warrantless wire taps (domestic or not) is not an abuse.

Ummm.

1) What U.S. judge has the authority to grant a warrant for actions in Germany?

2) So you are totally against collecting foreign intelligence?

3) What other methods of making war require a judicial confirmation in your opinion?

The problem is the BATF has in the past made straw purchases which no reasonable person would have recognized then prosecuted the dealer.

Even if they are found not guilty, they have lost their guns, their financial stability, and often their reputation. It is not unknown for them to be convicted based on dishonest testimony, at least that is what I have read in the American Rifleman.

"The last famous female straw buyer armed the two underage boys who did the Columbine shootings, which gave liberals the political ammunition for the AWB."

Uh, the AWB was signed into law in 1994

Columbine happened in 1999.

Your rhetoric and 'facts' are in line with a gun grabber.

You forget that Lon Horiuchi got away with it.

The wretched excesses of the ATF are well documented. Trying to get something done about any government wrongdoing is next to impossible. Which is why they continue to do it.

Buy it from another gun owner who's not an FFL, or buy an antique - both for cash.

Being caught with such a firearm in the Glorious Commonwealth of Massachusetts will land you in jail for 1 year. Mandatory.

Gad, I hate this frakkin' place.

"Did anybody mention to the ATF that denying civil rights, including the right to bear arms, is a federal crime?"

By that criterion, the entire California Legislature and the 9th Circuit Court judges should all be in the can.
