Allow me to assist in your threadjacking.

Get anything made by Gary Fisher. Great mountain bikes.

You should have kept reading. He found new and less clever ways to further obfusicate any meaning that may have been hidden behind the weird grammer and strange choices of words.

Do you know what price they generally run? I looked at some bikes at Dick's Sporting Goods yesterday, but I don't know enough to tell the difference between the $150 and $450 models. Are there absolute certain features I should be checking for?

Hmmm....

I'm sorry you've been separated from your children . . . assuming you did not abuse them or their mother.

Just a hint. Sending accusatory and/or rambling letters to judges and/or justices is only going to hurt your case. Writing is not your strong suit. Hire an attorney to represent you. If you can't afford one, try legal aid. Try one of those groups for father's rights.

An appeals court is very different than a trial court. In an appeals court, you generally cannot argue that the trial court did not properly establish the facts. The appeals court only decides whether or not the trial court met the requirements of the law. It deals with procedural errors, errors in the proper application of the law to the facts, or errors in interpreting the facts in a case where no reasonable person could look at the facts and come to the same decision as the court. Most attorneys have never done an appeal -- it is a highly-technical specialty.

Most judges are loathe to separate parents from their children. If you really want to get back in their lives, whether or not you feel you are guilty of the things of which your ex-wife accused you, you should do all you can to allow your ex-wife and the judge to see that your children are safe in your presence... including attending anger management counseling, alcohol or drug abuse treatment, or whatever programs directed or recommended by the court. When your kids are grown, they will appreciate that you made the necessary sacrifices to be with them.

I'm really sorry you're going through this. But there are two things I want to say. First, ask yourself: why did I marry her? You chose her out of all others because she had qualities of character that you admired. People's characters do not change, and although she is extremely disappointed with you and trying to punish you for it, I doubt that she would deliberately hurt your children or allow them to be in danger. Allow the situation to cool down, and then approach her (politely) about visitation. If you want this to work out, you must stay cool. Second, if you're going to plead before the courts, learn brevity. You must be precise and not meandering, otherwise the overburdened law clerk who has to read it and recommend how it should be handled will just dismiss it as ravings. Good luck to you and your children.

Either there were some glitches when you were using the 'cut and paste' function, or you could benefit from some classes in writing and grammar.

Plan on at least $500 for a truly off-road ready hardtail mountain bike. If you want dual suspension at least $1200. Avoid the cheaper full suspension bikes at all costs. If you have less than $1200, buy a hardtail.

You should be looking for at least 100mm of front suspension, a double butted aluminum frame, and Shimano Deore components at a minimum. You want to avoid cheaper straight guage frames because the bicycle will be extremely heavy by comparison, and you want to avoid the lower end 7 and 8 speed (21 and 24 total gears respectively) drive trains in favor of the better 9 speed (27 total gears) speed drive trains.

Are you familiar with Iron Horse Warrior bikes? The one I was looking at was on sale for $279, down from $399. I probably won't ride more than three days a week, and about 50% of the rides will actually be on pavement.

Stay away from it. Cheap full suspension is the absolute worst way to go. If you want a full suspension rig, plan on spending at least $1200. If that's too steep, get a quality hardtail instead.

I thought the one I was looking at was dual suspension, but I might be mistaken. I'll stop by the store today on the way home from work and check.

Full suspension and dual suspension are the same thing. You don't want a dual suspension that sells for less than $1200. For under $1200, you want a quality front suspension bike, also called a hardtail.

Thanks. That's the kind of dumbed down information about bikes I'm in need of.
