The betrayal of America
The Augusta Free Press ^ | February 20, 2006 | Max Friedman

Posted on 02/28/2006 3:36:19 PM PST by EveningStar

This column is a rant, not a soft, cuddly piece of fluff opinion. It is going to tell the truth like you have never heard it before. To quote Jack Nicholson from the movie "A Few Good Men" - "You want the truth? You can't handle the truth" - but I'm going to give it to you anyway.

So, as your mother used to do to those of you readers who are old enough to remember, hold your nose and take your medicine, because the doctor is in, and he's operating with a chainsaw.

After 35 years in the news/journalism business, from D.C. to Vietnam, I can honestly say that most of the leading Democratic Party politicians and their far-left support groups are traitors to this country. Besides the few who are deceased or out of office, today's DP is loaded with leaders who have sold out this country to the communists, to the Islamofascists and to their egos. Others are just plain stupid, addle-brained and knee-jerk jerks.

(I'll get to the Republicans in a minute)...

Did not the author bash Republicans? Have Republicans become gods? I was not aware that FR had become a GOP website. If it has then it has lost much of its usefulness. I have mistakingly assumed that this was a conservative website.

Politicians are politicians, no matter what label they carry. There number one concern is continuaztion of the status quo, with them in power.

We were just a twinkle in our Founding Fathers eyes.

This article was so right on !

I do not need to be encouraged to go out and shoot people. I have this feeling daily....what a hoot !

How do Republicans and like minded leaders keep their integrity and also be firm ? We do not operate like Democrats by design, Brotherhood of Man dictates this.

Although Bush is not perfect, I think he has demonstrated this as far as National Security. Makes no sense that he would be so soft on closing our boarders outright. Thanks

Thank you David Isaac, your comments here are true as well of politicans. Can we change this or is it human nature ?

When will the great leaders come ? Or does it come down to the intellegence of voters ? Call me Nazi but is the dumbing down of America making us vote stupid too ?

Would making criteria for being able to vote be that far fetched ? I wonder what others think. Thanks

Joining them in this class of betrayers is the mainstream media, including The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Los Angeles Times, CNN and CBS (as we used to say in Vietnam, the Communist Broadcasting System). They have put their hatred for President Bush before the safety and security of the country, and they have severally damaged our security efforts, not only at home, but abroad, and I will give examples to prove my point.

Thanks for the ping

It is indeed human nature. It has to do with Lord Acton's observation that power corrupts. This is why John Locke said that it is necessary for citizens to keep a constant and sharp eye upon their government.

Locke was the main source for ideas for our founding fathers, who by the way, included specific qualifications for voting. Which is why it was called a republic instead of a democracy.

Madison, Father of the Constitution, warned about political parties in the Federalis Papers (no. 10, I believe). Of course parties were already in existence when he helped write the Constitution.

Parties need watching just as much as the government, which is of course made of the two parties (except for one flaming liberal, who claims to be independent but his voting record would seem to say otherwise.)

Believeing that your own particular party does not need intense scrutiny, is exactly the reason Madison was so concerned about the formation of political parties (or factions as he called them). There seem to be many on this forum who have unflinching (sounds better than blind) faith in their party.

The dreamers needing more prodding is a misinterpretation of their true agenda.

Perhaps it is in a narrow sense. But the millions of voters who are seduced by the left's promises of perfection are the hearts and minds that must be won. Of course, if one believes that all those voting for Kerry etc. are hardened collectivists who advocate the destruction of capitalism, the logical extension is civil war.

I'm not ready to go there yet; but to each his/her own.

I found a photograph the other night in a KGB-front publication, the World Peace Council, and its newsletter of 1978, which featured a KGB-agent of influence led delegation of WPC leaders (mainly Communists) to the U.S., including Washington, D.C., and Detroit, Mich. The Detroit City Council, led by veteran CPUSA front supporters Mahaffey and Henderson, was in the picture, as was one city councilman named Carl Levine, as in present-day Sen. Carl Levine (D-Mich.).

Oh my ... has anyone posted this picture yet?

It's the next day and I'm madder than when I read this last night.

My fury is unbound.

Not because it's new, but because it's perfectly articulated.

I'm convinced if Jefferson and Washington were alive today, we'd be fighting our 2nd Civil War.

Lincoln would definitely shut down the NYT & all the co-conspirators, including the National Teachers Union etc..

And McCarthy? He'd be bursting blood vessels all over the place.

I'm sad to say, that the United States of America's days are numbered. I'm going on 60...so it probably won't have much of an effect on me. But my grown children are going to live a nightmare beyond comprehension, IMO.

F*&#ing liberal socialist scum.
