Second row up from bottom on left is Bronze Star which my father had, but unlike Nagin, my father earned and deserved.

Nagin should be ashamed, but that would be out of his realm of thinking or conscience.

he doesn't know any better.and that the real crime here..nothing wrong with wearing plain unadorned fatigues..though it is dorky..but you'd think he'd sense that wearing the fruit salad is NOT the right thing to do..

"Even amid the typical debauchery - including early morning drinking and skimpy costumes in the French Quarter - there were no escaping reminders of the storm"

Yep, one look around and it is plain to see that Nagin is still pretending to be mayor.

As a civilian, and if he's never been in the military, he's able to wear whatever he wants, as long as he's not trying to impersonate an officer........

Too bad there isn't a law against impersonating a mayor...

I presume that was his Mardi Gras costume?

The other 364 days he dresses up as a mayor.

The interesting thing that I noted was that as the camera's scanned the crowds there wasn't much chocolate there. Oh how stupid of me...they are all over here in Texas on our dime!!

"It is Mardi Gras...known for costumes..."

I know... didn't mean to sound self righteous... or get so wound up about it...Sorry about that...

He just dishonors the uniform and those who serve...
but why should that surprise me?

Really, I think his medals are for:

Dereliction of duty with a triple oak leaf cluster
AWOL
Incompetence with a double oak leaf cluster
Graft
Greed
Lying with an oak leaf cluster
Cowardice
Bad Taste
and other various awards unmentionable here.

There. I feel better now.

LOL. It is 'seared, seared' in his(nagin's)memory the time he personally pulled survivor's from the flood. "On Fat Tuesday,I was sent on a secret mission into the bayous by President Bush. There, I found survivors of that hurricane. Despite great danger, I saved them all single-handedly, well sean penn did bail out the skiff with a cup. Anyway, the President made me a 4-star General on the spot."

Has anyone seen any pictures of Mitch during the celebrations?..... You'd think he'd be front and center as he's now a declared mayoral candidate.

I just remembered, I think there is even an exception for one medal in particular.....The Congressional Medal of Honor. Absolutely NO ONE is allowed to wear one if it has not been awarded to you. But I could be wrong..........
