Wanda is out of town until 31 May and this charge is going to bother me until then. Somebody owes me $84.90. I was billed by the Comfort Inn in Hollywood, Fl. for that amount and the credit card company wants to know if Wanda canceled our stay there. If not, the motel charged for a no show.

COMFORT INN AIRPORT S HOLLYWOOD FL $ 84.90

Travel/ Entertainment

Has anyone else had this show up on their statement?

Not on mine but after Princess double billed 3 bills for a little over $100 I check it every day!

The statement Princess gave me was ok but I got my Discover credit card statement today, it wasn't up to date so I went on line to check recent charges and I was charged for the Comfort Inn in Hollywood, Florida which was where we were orginally going to stay but Wanda called and asked if I wanted to change it to the Hampton Inn and I said fine with me. I never booked either place, she did. I was charged for both.

My Princess charges were not listed on my credit card bill yet but I will be checking for that every day too.

My Princess statement was incorrect, but I settled it before disembarking. They took the charge off of my bill.
However I will watch my credit card bill when I get it.

Wanda won't be in her office until after May 31st.

Were you billed for the Comfort Inn also?

No, I wasn't. Everything seems kopacetic on my bill.

You will have freepmail in about 5 minutes.

The cruise thread will regretfully close down next Sunday night. So if any of you have more photos to post or want to share any adventures or reminiscences, please do it this week.

Most of the table prizes have been shipped out already and the remainder will go out Tuesday.

We had great prizes this cruise. Our grateful thanks go to freeper donors Oswegodeee, Flaglady47, DoughtyOne, Bizzy Bugz, Carlo3b, two anonymous freepers and several local conservative businesspeople whom I know and love.

Special thanks to Carlo3b for the donation of enough "Clinton Legacy" freeper cookbooks so each one won one. You're a sweetheart, Carlo, for thinking of our cruisers every FReeps Ahoy voyage. You are a big-hearted guy and our favorite master chef.

Thanks also to our "official photographers", Bizzy Bugz and Graybeard58, for the donation of their time and expenses connected with bringing us so many great photos. All cruisers will receive a copy of the group staircase photo in the mail from Graybeard when they are ready. Thanks also to Ricebug and his daughter for the outstanding pictures posted.

Bizzy and Ricebug won the drawing for the traditional cocktail party gag gifts. They were two stuffed animals that sang, and my description here would not do justice to how funny they were.

The Dalereed's lurker friend, Sue, won the special Mother's Day drawing, a very pretty red, white and blue bracelet with dangly silver stars.....a patriotic prize just in time for Memorial Day and the Fourth of July.

All in all, and thanks to our generous donors, everyone won something and I think each recipient is happy as a lark.....er, um,......a tern?

Special mention must be awarded our Cruise Webmaster, DoughtyOne. If you take another look at the cruise thread, you have to be impressed by the opening layout with the "Caribbean Princess" in all it's glory. Plus the thread pages are just loaded with stunning photos, conveying the sights and feel of the ship's amenities and stunning views of the island ports on our itinerary. Part superb technician and part artiste is our own matey, DoughtyOne. Thanks, Ron.

Serving as FReeps Ahoy 4 treasurer once again was Bob J who has filled this spot for almost all our past voyages. Thanks for your help, Bob. We can always count on you.

Thanks also to Wanda, our mermaid travel lady who labored mightily for many months to insure our group had a great time and everything went smoothly. This is Wanda's fifth cruise for us. She loves freepers. Working with her for all these months was a great pleasure for me. She's always upbeat and fun, even when there were the inevitable glitches and crisis.

Wanda's two sons (one Navy, one Marine) have recently returned from Iraq. We wish her and her family an ocean of happiness and smooth sailing. No matter where you live, we hope if any of you need a travel agent for a vacation or business trip, you'll think of Wanda, an honorary freeper if there ever was one.

Our total appreciation also to the Admiral of the Freep, Jim Robinson, who always heartily supports our freeper cruises. He provides every service we need for the cruise threads. He also performs the blind drawings for the registration incentive prizes every cruise. We hope to turn over a nice check as a donation to Free Republic when we receive the rebate cruise lines gives to registered groups.

Thanks, Jim. We're proud to be on your ship.

My personal thanks to each freeper in our merry band. You were such fun to be with. I'll consider myself lucky to always have wonderful shipmates like you at my side, whether on a cruise or on Free Republic.

God bless America. God bless our military. God bless Free Republic.

I just spoke with Wanda by phone and am happy to report that I will be getting my money back on that $84.90 extra motel charge, with half coming from the motel and half from Wanda's travel agency.

I don't know how many saw my reply to Ricebug but his pictures were excellent.

I have the mailing addresses of the people on the cruise and I will be mailing prints soon, I will let you know by FReepmail as soon as I mail them. They will be pictures taken by Ricebug.

Last call for pics to be posted. This thread will deep-six on Sunday night. All prizes have been shipped. It will be helpful to me if you post here that you received your prize.

I hope everyone enjoyed the cruise and the fellowship with freepers from around the country. I know I did. It's always great to be with folks you admire, respect and....ahem.....can talk politics with great insight and humor (something my liberal acquaintances can't do at all).

First, I want to apologize for not posting sooner.
Second, I would like to thank ALL the Freepers that traveled with us on the cruise for a most enjoyable and memorable time. We will never forget it and we hope to frequent the Freeper cruiselines soon.
Third, I want to thank BahamaMama for all her help and gift and time giving to the cause. (She devoted mucho time to this) Thanks, especially, to the donators of the gifts.
To Mrs. JCPARKS and I, this was a bittersweet occasion, as we were informed, as the ship was departing Ft. Lauderdale, that we had lost my father. Not wanting to post-pone 3150 people's plans as the ship left the harbor, we elected to continue the trip (even though insurance was purchased). My father was a decorated veteran, and is now buried at the Ft. McPherson National Cemetery in Maxwell, Nebr. with military honors.
Thank you all again for a most memorable trip.
