FREEPER Discussion - Immigrantion Reform (H.R.1447) - Madatory Employment Verification

Perhaps the most important item that needs to be added to H.R. 4437 is a requirement that the federal government has to cooperate with local officials and has to pick up any illegal alien that local law enforcement might detain.

Mandatory Employment Verification

H.R. 4437 would finally mandate that every employer in the United States use the federal Internet/phone verification system that quickly and easily determines if a new hire is legally eligible to work here. Currently called the Basic Pilot program, this system for verifying Social Security numbers would stop most illegal aliens from getting jobs with legitimate employers. While no single enforcement measure would stop all illegal immigration, this is the single-most important solution to rectifying our nation’s half-hearted effort to tackle the problem.

Under the bill, all private employers would be required to use the Basic Pilot within two years of enactment to determine every new hire’s eligibility to work. By three years following enactment, federal, state and local governments, and the military would have to verify new hires. Within six years, all employers would have to run all their employees through the system. Employers that use the system in good faith are shielded from liability for hiring illegal aliens, and tough penalties are included for non-compliant employers.

The employment verification language in H.R. 4437 provides businesses an easy way to ensure compliance with the law and avoid inadvertent hiring violations. Perhaps most importantly from a business standpoint, enactment of this bill will allow all community-minded patriotic businesses the peace of mind that their competitors will not be undercutting them by hiring illegal labor.

The single greatest point of failure for this issue is the lack of enforcement and oversight of employers who fire illegals. If you shut off the tap, the water won't flow. Same in this situation, the illegals come for jobs, shut down the source.

There simply isn't any national discussion towards this end, so I did some light digging into the bill to see where and how the meat of this was addressed. I was pleased to find some info, but not really enough.

Employers that use the system in good faith are shielded from liability for hiring illegal aliens, and tough penalties are included for non-compliant employers.

So what are the penalties and who will enforce them? I'd think the IRS might be the ideal group to handle this, even though previously I didn't think they should exist as a government entity. Yet they have the informational resources that can be compared with what the employer actually has going on, and an army of auditors to track discrepancies between reports filed by employers and what their business is actually doing.

So what do y'all think?

My Latina wife is PO'd. Her family obeyed the law and got screwed. All they needed to do was come here illegally and win the invertabrate Republican wimp-out LOTTO of appeasement and amnesty. Yeah, she'll show up and vote for them in November... : P

Good morning, my apologies, but would you correct the title if you have a moment? "Immigration" and "Mandatory" have creative spelling.

No need in hurrying.

Let's just wait until all of the USA is taken over by Mexico and then we can play Mexicans and Muslims.

Lets not play with those that would sell us out in Washington who import poverty so we taxpayers can support them. If Washington wants to import poverty make them pay out of their income!!!!! Not US!! We didnt ask for the welfare bums to be imported make every employer and every politician starting with the President to pay and support the UNDOCUMENTED bums and their punks and dont make us do it!!

This is so ridiculous, the PROPAGANDA that employers need low wage earners is BS , Walmart is a large "contributor" to the GOP or better known as lobbying Washington, THEY import from China, and they are the ones who are at the very least partially responsible for Specther and his ilk importing poverty and low wage earners and MAKING YOU AND ME to pick up the damn tab to support them!!!Besides Walmart is a MAJOR CONTRIBUTOR to LaRaza.

Mandatory federal ID swipe card in a federal database (that brings up a front and side image) plus SS# is the only possibility that will save this country:

Voter fraud will stop
Employment of illegals will stop
ID fraud and a lot of financial fraud will stop

With severe financial penalties split with whistleblowers. Otherwise it won't be enforced, or enforced erratically.

As an employer of 18+, I have I-9 forms to keep on file on every employee, each year. Plus, copies of driver's license, social security cards or birth certificates.

In 16 years, no INS has ever come through, that I know about, but I still maintain the records, just in case.

As soon as I tell the few Mexicans who've applied, that I need certain documents, they leave. Oh well...

"How about a "Mandatory Voter Verification"?"

Well, voting and voter qualification are STATE tasks, and most states "do" have such a "Mandatory Voter Verification" requirement.

That's what I thought. What is wrong with them verifying legality BEFORE they hire them? Unless they are hiring a poop load of people at the same time, they could do it before they get on board. In Texas, they have a quarterly report to the state regarding all employees. You get a letter back if it doesn't match real records. All the illegals do is work for a quarter for someone and before the "hammer" comes down, they move on to another employer.

I think you have a good idea here. We can begin making noise right away. Read the details and see what you think.

DOUG from Upland started with this thread U.S. BORDER PATROL: Turn In Illegal Aliens (and employers, followed by this one U.S. BORDER CONTROL Turn in illegal aliens

Go to either thread for more details on what to do. The TOLL FREE number to report ILLEGAL aliens or those employing ILLEGAL aliens to ICE is: 866-347-2423

How it works:

You are not required to provide your identity to ICE. All that is necessary to request an investigation by ICE is mere suspicion of any activity by ILLEGAL aliens.

ICE and the IRS are especially interested in "visiting" those businesses that employ ILLEGALS "off the books" to avoid the payment of payroll taxes.

Latinos Plan Nationwide Worker Strike

I suggest looking around and see if you might spot a suspect. At work, at school, at a job sight, Micky D's, Store etc.

On the day(current plan is May 1) of this march check to see if you can determine if someone took the day off. Confirming grounds for suspicion.

Then MAKE THE CALL
Again the number is
866-347-2423

:) Easy Does It
