LONGMONT, Colo. -- More than two dozen students walked out of Skyline High School Friday morning to protest what they say is a ban that doesn't allow the American flag to be flown on school grounds.
Several students said that they were upset that Mexican flags can be waved around but that American flags couldn't. They said that school officials confiscated their American flags because it has become inflammatory because of recent immigration issues.
"When the immigration laws came out we noticed that a lot of Hispanics were waving Mexican flags and what we were thinking to ourselves is like, isn't the immigration law to stay in the country? You want to stay in America, correct? So I said, for every Mexican flag, you should have an American flag right next to it. So a few people went out and started waving American flags, and that's where everything bridged out," said Skyline student R.J. Fogal. "That's when they started telling us that we can't wave American flags, there's going to be no flags today, or everyone is going to be suspended -- whoever carries a flag."
"What we want to know is since when was it against the rules to have an American flag on a car, in a car, in your hands in a school?" said student William Cassity.

So the school officials are now of the position that the freedom of speech exists only when there are no tensions. That is, if one side becomes inflamed, all the world can hear only their speech. All other sides must remain quiet.
End the Apartheid in public schools.

(e) Display on or near administration building of public institutions The flag should be displayed daily on or near the main administration building of every public institution.
(f) Display in or near polling places The flag should be displayed in or near every polling place on election days.
(g) Display in or near schoolhouses The flag should be displayed during school days in or near every schoolhouse.
Cut all state and federal tax aid, have them get their $ from Mexico.
All the citizens near that school should surround the campus with American flags. Stay off the school property and march round and round the school with the flag held high.

Have you been to Colorado lately? PLENTY of California type liberals and their minions, the illegal immigrants, holding us hostage. Colorado is NOT the bastion of conservatism it once was.
Me too .. and the teachers and principals just stand there looking stupid - except for the ones who encouraged the kids to do it .. good grief!

A while ago, we had a discussion in which a general statement was made, namely:—"Once you accept the banning of Confederate symbols as 'racist,' it won't be long before the politically-correct gestapo ban American symbols." I believe that discussion occurred on this thread, from January '06. As recent events have unfolded, I believe that point has been illustrated on a grand scale, and would like to seek your thoughts on the original topic, in light of them.
Since this article is similar to previous articles on this general progression, please forgive me for simply restating my comments from another similar thread, when I say:
I find it amusing that we've been warning the anti-Confederates amongst us that, by supporting the suppresion of Southern symbols from schools, ultimately they will be forced to suppress American symbols. I think that the blatant display of these recent Mexican agitators illustrates supremely that, in fact, Americans no longer have any right to hoist their symbols anywhere without being painted "racist" by the "reconquisti."I look forward to your thoughts on the progression of the Anti-American Left from merely banning the tried-and-true Southern "racist" symbols, to the beginning of the classification of all purely AMERICAN symbols as racist! I hope that these recent events have helped shed some light on the original position which was raised by (and please, forgive me if I get this wrong) puroresu. Now there are other objectives: removal of "racist" team mascots, change historical school names, roads, shoot they are even trying to change entire names of cities.
Removal of state flags, removal of the motto "In God We Trust" from money, removal of prayer from school, removal of ten commandments from public displays.
Removal of soldiers graves, dorm building names, monuments, historical markers, battlefields.
Since we didn't stand up for certain American historical memorials, they're coming back for more. They will keep taking until the foundations of our country are dismantled.

How anyone can look at those beautiful mountains and not feel a surge of patriotism is beyond me. I try to go to Colorado every summer, but I spend most of my time camping and fishing for rainbow trout--far away from political discussions. I truly love Colorado and resent the ugliness that the hatred of a few have done to tarnish any of the pristine beauty of the state.
Parents should pull their kids out of this school. No kids, no money!!
