10,000+ ON THE MARCH (illegals say walls won't keep them out)
NY POST ^ | April 2, 2006 | DOUGLAS MONTERO and LORENA MONGELLI

Posted on 04/02/2006 5:43:00 AM PDT by Liz

A roiling sea of immigrants - many of them in the country illegally - and their supporters poured across the Brooklyn Bridge and into Manhattan yesterday to protest what they call "oppressive" reform measures currently under consideration in Congress.

Marchers, waving flags from Mexico, Colombia, Honduras and El Salvador, chanted and carried signs recalling America's roots during the demonstration, organized by state Sen. Ruben Diaz, a Bronx Democrat and native of Puerto Rico.

"That flag on top of the Brooklyn Bridge is symbolic because all these other flags, all these other nations, are covered by the USA," declared Ismael Claudio, 35, also a native Puerto Rican and therefore a U.S. citizen.

In the House, legislation already has passed that would set penalties for anyone who knowingly assists or encourages an illegal immigrant to remain in the country.

The Senate may adopt a broader bill that would be less punitive, create a guest-worker program and open a path to citizenship for the estimated 11M immigrants now in the country without proper papers.

As they trekked over the bridge, demonstrators carried signs proclaiming, "Did the pilgrims need green cards?"

Patricia Urgules, 35, of Ecuador, said......"I came here in search of the American Dream - the dream to be free, to be treated equally," she said. "We only ask for those basic principles this country was founded on."

Construction worker Eduardo Segundo, 40, of Harlem, scoffs at the notion, mentioned by Mayor Bloomberg last week, of a wall on the U.S.-Mexican border.

He recalled sneaking across the border 12 years ago - and said 20 of his and his wife's relatives now live in the United States. ".....The wall that they build will not work. People will just figure out a way to cross."

Applying the law as it is written would work. The move to enforce the laws should begin at the offices of the companies hiring illegals. We looked at a new condo complex in Maryland a few days ago. The place was overflowing with Mexican workers doing every kind of job. Were they legal? Who knows?
The buses full of baskets and Mexicans roll through Maryland
Eastern Shore. They appear to be planting some crops by hand. They are here and there are many. Politicians should enforce the laws or shut the he** up. The politicans allowed this entire matter to fester and now they have concerns? Maybe they should check with local schools and see just how much the taxpayers are be tagged to educate
children of illegals. How much does it cost to care for the sick among them?
In my opinion there is nothing they can do now but go after the employers and send them to jail.

The truly ugly truth of the matter is that none of this would be happening if the Democrats weren't trying to backstab President Bush at every chance they get in this time of war.

They believe that doing so will help them win the next election.

Our enemies see this nation as divided, crumbling, and ready for collapse and are even daring us to act(Hugo Chavez, North Korea, and Iran) knowing that thanks to the democrats nothing might be done to them.

And now we have those that believe we will surrender the entire southeast portion of the United States to Mexico in exchange for the end of illegal immigration protesting all over this country because they see a weakness.

"I think America is in deep trouble here. I don't like anything that I have been seeing. Not good. Not good at all."

Not at all---this stuff is absolutely great. Nothing is better for waking up the "sleeping giant" that is mainstream America.

These criminals come here, violate our laws (NOT just the ones on illegal entry--but they have to commit crime on a regular basis just to make a living--even if employed, and then have the audacity to DEMAND that we let even MORE criminals to enter.

They couldn't do more to damage their case if they were actually planning it.

Ya know the more I see this kind of thing the more it scared I become...this is not just some illegals wanting to come here to move into better circustances it's an all out uprising...

In all my life I haven't felt my country has been so immediately threatened...

I've put a good many years on this earth too, my friend, and the America we loved and grew up in will never be the same.  Our America as we knew it is gone.  I cry for America!

"Our leaders (elite) have been convinced that a unified government of North America is first step to a unified world government which will ensure peace and eliminate the threat of nuke or WMD wars..they are destroying our nation to save mankind,,what fools they are."

Our leaders are convinced that they will be the new rulers over an enslaved populace. They will use the militarized police force of the defunct U.S. to enforce their will and the police will do so gladly saying "we were only following orders". It's been in the making for years.

At one time I would have put that in the Crazed rant nut case box, but I just don't know anymore the decisions at the Fed gov level just do not make sense unless they plan to weaken the USA and form some super government the old One world order then it does make sense.

Oh yes!  And we were military and were stationed in Germany for 5 years.  We were told to "learn the language, that most German's can speak English, but they will not."  We are in their Country so we learn their language.

So why don't the illegal aliens, who say they want to become citizens, learn the damn language?  I understand there is a part of LA in California that NO one speaks English.  What's UP with this?

I work in a public high school and many of the students who 'walked' last week are p-i-s-s-e-d at us, full of venom and hatred.

Every stinking one of those who walked out should be expelled for the rest of the year.

.....and German is a much more difficult language to learn than English.........

What's up with this?

It's b/c the illegals are too stupid and lazy to make the effort to learn.

That's why they demand taxpayers subsidize their every whim.

That's what I have been saying.

The high schools are so liberal and tech such hatred of the US, that of course these high school kids are full of contempt for the American flag, of course they demand, and do not ask.

And the more they see a weak response, the more will feel validated in their get-in-America's-racist-face attitude will feel right.

Then they go back to their high school classes and read more about the evil Columbus and how we killed all the Indians. Man, something's got to give.

Try to sell your home when 2 doors down the duplex has a yard full of cars ( and trucks, the newest & gaudiest ), three satellite dishes, and 15 or so people living in a space meant for four?

You forgot the boombox blaring banda.

No prom for student protesters
WFAA ^ | April 1, 2006 | Brad Watson

Mayra Hernandez and Lesly Hernandez planned to look pretty for the Ennis High School senior prom on Saturday night. But they won't be going because they joined a protest. "We all bought dresses, accessories, and we rented a limo and all that," Mayra said. "Now all that money is just going to waste."

Thousands of North Texas students skipped classes this week to demonstrate against the immigration bill now being considered by the U.S. Congress. About 130 Ennis ISD students—from sixth graders to seniors—joined in Thursday, despite a school district warning that any student participating would be suspended until Monday, including the prom. The district suspended Aracely Garcia, even though her mother excused her from school for the demonstration.

But as parents and school staff set up decorations for Saturday's event, the Ennis ISD held firm.

School officials declined interviews with News 8, but Superintendent Mike Harper told the Ennis Daily News, "one of the greatest gifts we give to immigrants and their families is a free public education, and it shows extraordinarily poor judgment for those who have received that gift to walk out on it."

If they can't go, the suspended seniors said they will walk in protest Saturday night outside KJT Auditorium, where the prom takes place.
