At the same time, the head of the Revolutionary Guards, Gen. Yahya Rahim Safavi, said the United States must recognize Iran as a "big, regional power."

Only until the Sea of Iran is created.

Photo released on Monday April 3, 2006 shows a test firing of a Fajr-3 missile fired by Iran in the Persian Gulf on April 1, 2006.

Iran conducted its second major test of a new missile within days, firing a high-speed torpedo that it said no submarine or warship can escape and boasting of its strength at a time of increased tensions with the United States over its nuclear program.

The tests Sunday came during war games that Iran's elite Revolutionary Guards have been holding in the Persian Gulf and the Arabian Sea since Friday.(AP Photo/IRNA)

IRGC Chief Says Iran Ready To Defend Country Against Foreign Invasion
IRNA (Internet Version-WWW)
Tuesday, April 4, 2006

Bandar Abbas, Hormuzgan prov, April 4, IRNA -- The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps announced on Tuesday that its navy force is capable of defending the coastal areas and islands of the country in the face of any extraterritorial invasion.

"The missile unit of the IRGC navy force has deployed different kinds of surface-to-sea missiles and smart missile systems across 2,000 kilometers of the Persian Gulf coasts to defend the coastlines and islands against any foreign invasions," said Commander-in-Chief of the IRGC Major General Yahya Rahim Safavi on Tuesday following successful test-firing of `Misaq' and `Kowsar' missiles in the southeastern territorial waters.

Safavi said the Islamic Republic of Iran considers its successful missile test-firing as a defensive and deterrent force.

He said, "Iran wants durable peace, security and tranquility in the Persian Gulf, which would not be possible without pullout of foreign forces and occupiers from Iraq."

He noted that forces under his command on Tuesday successfully test-fired Misaq surface-to-air missile, which hit a high speed pilotless plane. "This indicates power and precision of the operating forces and units," he added.

The IRGC commander said that another missile, a surface-to-sea one called Kowsar, hit a target deep inside Oman sea. The missile is exceptional of its kind, he added.

Uh-huh.

Okay- you have one weird green indig submarine and some old Russian deisel boats. And a funny-looking Wing in Ground effect vehicle. And one fewer missile, every time you loudly announce a 'secret test'.

What elose have you got? Nine million screaming Pasadaran?
