September 1998 Document: Secret Research Programs Related to WMD (Translation)
Pentagon/FMSO website ^ | April 11 2006 | jveritas

Posted on 04/11/2006 8:47:53 PM PDT by jveritas

In pages 63 and 64 of document Document CMPC-2003-002284 , there is secret and confidential memo dated September 16 1998 concerning a meeting of the National Monitoring Department to discuss how to destroy some “non necessary documents” and keep the necessary one in a safe place according to the memo but the most important part of the memo is a pareagraph on how to handle “The Researches That Cannot Be Declared and that is related with the previous Prohibited Programs of WMD and how to make sure that information about these researches will not leak to the outside because it will be too dangerous if this happened”. Yet another document that proves without any doubt that Saddam Regime never stopped working in his WMD programs and Research and they were just waiting for the opportune moment to produce these WMD again on a large scale. Also remember that in September 1998 the UN inspectors were still in Iraq and they were kicked later on that year after some US air and missile strikes. So most definitely these Secret Research Programs related to WMD were still in existence and may have reached a more advanced stage from late 1998 to late 2002 where during this period of time there were no UN inspectors in Iraq. This document is another proof that we could have never trusted Saddam and that we had all the right to remove his brutal and terrorist regime after 9/11/2001.

Partial translations of Pages 63 and 64.

Secret and Confidential

Committee Meeting

16/9/1998

Following the meetings of the committee formed per the Presidential-Secretary order numbered 1392 on 11/8/1998, and the committee achieved its meeting on 16/9/1998 and below is the most important of what the meeting included:

1. Review the previous meeting and what was achieved from measures related to the documents that were obtained… Where the documents that does not have a reason to exist (became no value) were destroyed and keeping the portion (in safe place) that the committee believe that its needs will be revealed in the future… and the task was done under very tight and very detailed security measures and that operation lasted (7) seven continuous days.

2. Through the meetings of the committee with a number of the specialized staff that worked previously in the Prohibited Programs (Nuclear, Biological, Chemical, and Rockets) the following was found:

A. There are still a number of different documents with the Senior Staff that worked on the previous Prohibited Programs. The committee with continue to verify the non existence of any Special Document with the concerned people.

B. It was clear that there is another branch committee from the Industrial Committee headead by Dr. Mahdi Shakr Ghali that currently evaluate the Researches That Cannot Be Declared (Researches with relation to the previous Prohibited Programs) through presenting the Specialized Staff that ask to evaluate its researches, to conclusion related to these researches. This is an important subject and it is dangerous in case these information are leaked one way or another. We suggest that one of the specialized in our committee represented in that committee or these researches will be presented to our committee before approving it.

I will be glad to do that but I need help from many freepers as well to attract the attention of Talk radio. They need to receive a good number of e-mails on this very important issue. Also if a freeper happen to get into Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity or other syndicated nation wide talk radio (our side), it will be a great thing if they mention these documents.

Ok, now we need somone to start the freep Radio Programs e-mails campaign for you...

Seems I owe Mr Snow an apology. Here is a reprint of an exchange he had with Phsstpok on the Sunday Thread. So you are right. This is a developing story and will get out. Just have to wait for a gap in the spin cycle when it's not all Immigration all the Time. 10s of thousands at protest marches does seem to suck all the air out of the room for other stories.

Phsstpok:

and JVeritas work got mentioned on Captain's Quarters (including independent confirmation of the translations to debunk any doubters), Little Green Footballs and I think it will be picked up by many other sites over the next few days. I think even the MSM will be forced to take this one up. This am the real deal folks. His is another "buckhead post."
Write it down.

Reply from Tony Snow:

As you know, I ran with the story last Thursday and Friday (and mentioned it briefly today) -- and couldn't agree more about its importance. It's also just the beginning...

Has MSNBC made the documents public as the Bush Administration has or we just suppose accept their claims with no verifcation ala Rathergate?

Of course not, they're "secret" but verified but unnamed sources.
"Their actions and findings were described to a Washington Post reporter in interviews with six government officials and weapons experts who participated in the mission or had direct knowledge of it.
None would consent to being identified by name because of fear that their jobs would be jeopardized. Their accounts were verified by other current and former government officials knowledgeable about the mission."

I see. The Washington Post is hyperventilating because a report sent from Iraq 2 days before the President mentioned the trailers in a speech drew a contrary conclusion. These Junk Media people are idiots. Do they have ANY clue how many "reports" the Govt generates? Thanks for bringing this up, for-warned is for-armed.

They hyperventilate so much that they keep their bags around their necks. I just wish it was plastic and they would cover their whole heads.

Something from around the time that memo was penned:

SEPTEMBER 6, 1998 : (IRAQI PAPER "AL-THAWA" : IRAQ WILL TAKE "NECESSARY ACTION" IF THE U.N. DOESN'T LIFT TRADE SANCTIONS) "An Iraqi newspaper that reflects the views of the ruling Baath party warned Sunday that Iraq will take ``necessary action'' if the U.N. Security Council does not lift punishing trade sanctions. The front-page editorial in Al-Thawra did not say what action was contemplated. The paper also reacted angrily to an American and British draft resolution introduced to the Security Council last week. It calls for suspension of regular sanctions reviews until Iraq reverses its Aug. 5 decision to freeze cooperation with U.N. weapons inspectors.." ----- AP 9/6/98 Waiel Faleh AP via "DOWNSIDE LEGACY AT TWO DEGREES OF PRESIDENT CLINTON : SECTION: MIDDLE EAST : SUBSECTION: IRAQ," Revised 1/8/01, AlamoGirl.com
