"Whatever happened to him, I wonder?..........."
He's probably dead ... and we still buy their shoes, beach chairs, ratchets & wrenches, etc....

Exactly, I came away furious at Yahoo and Cisco.
It was good to see Harry Wu pushing the Congress on the issue of
Cisco breaking the law about exporting "law enforcement" materials
to Mainland China.
IIRC, isn't Google's motto "Don't be evil"?
Looks like the hidden clause is "but it's OK to help and be friends with evil".
If true, the university students that were clueless about "Tank Man"
tells us just how well Yahoo, Cisco and Google have done their job
for the Communists.
(but maybe that's because they are just fellow-travelers at heart)

Every once in awhile, Frontline comes up with a gem. The Rwanda special they did years ago, really nailed Clinton and Albright.

It was an informative recounting of the events just before the Tiannamen Square
Massacre with a lot of footage I hadn't seen before.
I either forgot or never saw the footage about the troops firing on
the family/friends inquiring on "the morning after" about the people that
"went missing".
And the story about the film canister floating in the toilet tank was
interesting.
Once again...Frontline shows itself to be one redeemable island in
the cash sink-hole which is PBS.

I recall reading that the tank man was tried in one of their kangaroo courts and shot. This was at least 5 years ago. I don't recall the source and hope that the information is false. He was (and hopefully still is) a courageous man.

"....cash sink-hole which is PBS....." I agree. I'll also watch NOVA ("Supertwisters" this week showed the interesting computer modeling of storms; where was Helen Hunt?) and occasionally the AMERICAN EXPERIENCE ("Boy in the Bubble" this week was heart rending).

I saw that show last night on PBS...and was interested in the interview with the four Beijing University students...who proclaimed utter bafflement at the Tank Man photo.
I did briefly hear when they huddled, the young man of the group say between themselves..."1989".
They knew. Or at least he did.
They didn't dare REVEAL they knew.

I caught the last half. Very good TV. And you will NEVER look at Google and Yahoo search pages again in the same way.

I just saw a blurb on tv a couple days ago, it was Barbara Walters talking to some Chinese official (I think it was a few years old), the Chinese official said the man was arrested and he doesn't know where he's at, Baba asked him if he was killed and he said he will not discuss that situation.
Then it went to another Chinese person in America who has tried to locate tankman for years, all they know is he was arrested and has disappeared.

And you will NEVER look at Google and Yahoo search pages again in the same way.
Or think of Cisco in the same way...
It will be interesting to see if they'll actually end up taking over a hit
over their work in helping the Communists spy on the Chinese people.

There is absolutely no doubt in my mind what so ever that those b@stards are more than willing to provide that same spy and censure tech to all of the future commercial regions of the Global Community.
