Sounds like the Ruskies are lying about that wild trip to the Black Sea.

(With thick Russian accent.) "No, really, we flew across the ocean to Canada."

Questioning wife: 'How can I confirm this?'

"AHHH. You can't. We flew undetected."

We probably just shrugged and assumed they were being delivered to the Air and Space Museum, or being traded at the desert graveyard for two old B-52's for some Mob Collector.

Looks like the Russian commander is an 80s music fan....

LIES Thompson Twins You told me you loved me, so I don't understand, Why promises are snapped in two, and words are made to bend. The bigger, the better, some stolen from Japan. Collected from around the world, they'll catch you if they can. CHORUS: Lies, lies, lies, yeah! Lies, lies, lies, yeah! Lies, lies, lies, yeah! Lies, lies, lies, yeah! Do I have to catch you out, to know what's on your mind? Well Cleopatra died for Egypt, what a waste of time. The white ones and red ones, and some you can't disguise. Twisted truth and half the news, can't hide it in your eyes. CHORUS You say you'll try harder, but I think it's just too late. Well, the car is revving in the drive, and I'm not the sort to wait. The bigger, the better, some nicked from old Saigon Collected from around the world, love lies on and on and on and on and on. CHORUS They're gonna get you They won't forget you They're gonna get you

I'd guess that the recently defunct Canadian government sabotaged the NORAD radar systems years ago. They didn't want to participate in any anti-missile systems.

Hard to believe the Canadians ever painted their insignia on a BOMARC, huh?

In fact, the Tu-95 was one of the MOST unstealthy planes because the four sets of contra-rotating propellers gave the plane a MASSIVE radar signature. Even going to composite blades in the later Tu-142 versions didn't really reduce the radar cross section that much.

Even if they were somehow able to evade radar, how did they get past our satellites?

I don't buy any of this crap. Sounds like propaganda to me...

The U.S. zone of the Arctic Ocean? Sounds like Alaska. So, what is Ted Stevens going to do about it? Build another bridge?

All during the Cold War Russian Bear Bombers flew up and down the Atlanta costline of the U. S. They were detected but flew just the same. Russian bombers based in Cuba also covered the Panama Canal are and off the Pacific coast.

"This entire article is based upon what the Russian Air Commander has stated, printed on a Russian based site. Dubious information, at best."

The term for this is "Maskirovka"

Possibility of truth "nichevo"

All governments have secrets. It is possible there is less rust on portions of the Russian military than is generally accepted.

Top sends
