Kerry: Opposing Iraq War Is Patriotic
NewsMax ^ | April 22, 2006 | Carl Limbacher

Those who disagree with the Bush administration's policies in Iraq face the same scornful charges that they are unpatriotic as Sen. John Kerry did 35 years ago when he spoke out against the Vietnam War, the Massachusetts Democrat said Saturday.

"I have come here today to reaffirm that it was right to dissent in 1971 from a war that was wrong. And to affirm that it is both a right and an obligation for Americans today to disagree with a president who is wrong, a policy that is wrong, and a war in Iraq that weakens the nation," Kerry said to a standing ovation Saturday at Boston's historic Faneuil Hall.

Opposing Kerry is also patriotic.

That quote from PR pretty much sums it up!

di, is that like against uni?

Diverse is related to divert--to turn aside, or to distract. That's what diversity can do if mishandled. I hadn't thought of the uni- in universe. It sort of means 'turn to one'. United or whole, maybe. That's what a 'university' is supposed to do, I assume. To unite, to make whole. Today, they are more "diversities" designed to split or distract. They need to get back to E Pluribus Unum, "out of many, one". They need to bring us together.

Was he helping us on illegals when Clinton was in office? No. Outsourcing? No. Everything was peace and prosperity.

He began this Presidents term with blaming him for Enron, from the first day of their bankruptcy he began a silly count-down to the day the gov would prosecute, pretending that the DOJ was somehow going to drop a huge complicated financial case, because they did not begin trials in a week.

E Pluribus Unum is cool and I like it because I think it does reflect the US. Just don't expect me to polarize with the commie left. Better dead then Red. That's what I say.

I thought Kerry voted in favor of the war.

You are correct, 'dat. He did.

But remember WHEN he did, even more important than THAT he did. (and the others, for that matter). Right before the 2002 "midterm" elections. Well, they are only "midterm" for the President. For the House of Representatives, every two years, they run for office, as does a third of the Senate...including Mr. French Toast.

They thought it would get them the House back, and keep their razor slim majority in the Senate. When neither one worked, it was carte blanche to fire away, figuring that the mainstream media would either cover up their previous vote/support for the war, or would amplify their current disdain for the war, and their political opponent who was/is the Commander in Chief of it. Both have proven true.
