Correct.
At one time I just couldn't understand President Bush's stance on this. Poll after poll after poll has consistently shown a majority of Americans in favor of a secure border and no shamnesty for the Criminal Aliens that are already here.
Given that, given our precious Rule of Law, given the conservative mindset, how could President Bush be so against it?
The answer is here. This article is almost a year old but it nails down exactly why President Bush has adopted the stance he has. A sorry, sad situation.
This will come to a head soon. And I fear it will not be pretty or peaceful.
Precisely.
Bush is digging his own grave.
Impeachment ? Half the country believes that Bush deliberately lied about Iraqi WMD's. That is no French farce about cigars or stained dresses or what 'is' is. It is about war and peace and 2300 dead Americans.
Good point.
I still agree with the President on this: mass expulsions would be political suicide, no matter what these polls say.
However, it is still early in this debate. The more demostrations, the more alarmed regular people are becoming. Eventually, they may be fine with expulsions of at least some, if they feel their safety and security is in danger from politicos trying to exploit new found power to move the border north.
"And you may bet on this: If the president and his as-out-of-touch with and/or contemptuous of Americans congressional party members do not respond to Americans' absolute requirement that the...
OK, here it shifts from sarcasm (?) to reality:
"...federal government to resolve the situation that they and otherwise dissimilar pressure groups have constructed for the rest of us...they will see the loathsome (really)...socialists... gain the speakers gavel ...and undo anything the majority had hopes of building from the rubble good ole Jimmy and Slick Willie left behind.
Talk about opportunities lost!
It worked for Eisenhower. But then this President is no Eisenhower.
They don't care. The arrogant GOP bastards think they can just float the "You don't want to elect a Democrat" scare tactic and think we'll run dutifully to the polls this November.
I'm not biting this time. As Dick Cheney said, "They have not led, and the time has come for them to go."
BINGO!!! We have a winner!!!
The mass demonstrations were a big mistake. A lot of American citizens suddenly became alarmed, and that is series.
<< I still agree with the President on this: mass expulsions would be political suicide, no matter what these polls say. >>
OK, then.
So lets support those who put their own political comfort and security before their responsibility to our beloved FRaternal Republic.
Although I liked it better in the old days when every one of that shabby gang was called a "Democrat."
As for "mass expulsions," I take it you see no such political risk in the current situation of mass invasion?
I suggest that when we start putting the employers of these criminals in prison we will see the flow reversed.
The expulsions, of course, would not be "mass," in nature.
As criminal aliens are all eventually picked up, for the felonies of which every one of them is already guilty, [ONLY crossing the border is not a felony] by a sort of incremental process they aught be sentenced to a minimum six months in prison, preferably at hard labor building security barriers on both of our land borders and deported in accordance with existing law.
As criminal aliens, of course, none aught have access to America's legal process.
Think about this, the Republicans would (well, I said I was dreamin) know that if they tried to put through legislation seriously enforcing the border, they would be hit with the filibuster from the Dems and nothing would get done.
But, If the Pubbies and the President allow the Dems to get what appears to be on the right of the issue, then when the vote comes up on the bill, the Dems go first, vote for it and the Pubbies come after supposedly to kill it but vote enmasse in favor of the stricter enforcement pleading a change of concience.
The Rats are trapped and can't even say a word because they "led" the charge.
Now, would I trust the GOP to do that...hell no, but like I said, I have a dream...
I'll second that post.
I hope you're right... but my gut feel tells me it will never happen. If we have anywhere from 12-14 million (or upwards of 18-20 million as I have also heard), there may be a few thousand token arrests, and those arrested will be released on "their own recognizence" by the courts as fast as they can release them. I don't think the cowardly Repub politicians along with the traiterous DimWit politicians would ever take serious action to clamp down on illegal immigrants rampaging in the streets. Especially when POTUS GW Bush is the number one proponent of illegals having the right to remain in the country as part of his guest-worker aka amnesty program. Bush has never met a social bloated problem that he couldn't endorse, embrace and throw money at, and use to betray the conservatives who elected him.
His dad in a moment of weakness said it in public: " The New World Order"
Your last statment as to what Bush Sr said is a chilling thought....but very true as to GW Bush's true one-world, globalist ideology. The statement of "The New World Order" literally sends chills running up & down my spine, as you consider the evil ulterior motives that the power elites are conspiring to put in place -- and GW Bush is in lock step with them.
<< I'll second that post. >>
Nah.
You are second to none.
And may first-equal it!
<< The statement of "The New World Order" literally sends chills running up & down my spine ... >>
Then go take a nap.
The Bushs are not "new world order-ists," those ranks are reserved for the likes of such evil bastards as the Kennedys and Kerrys et al and every other supporter of the Socialist Internationale.
And we've been a part of the "new world order" ever since the socialist traitor Roosevelt's Soviet-agent-larded and directed cabinet, Justice and State departments' brahmanas set up and the every-bit-as-Soviet-agent directed Harry Truman administration locked into place the "new world order" which operated then and operates still from its headquarters on its Rockefeller donated site beside New York's East River
Wow, that was an excellent editorial! Not just grains of truth but chunks of truth.
