They may not be good at much, but they are patient and do know how to wait until their plan can have a maximum shock effect. What better way than to threaten the top superpower in the world with nukes if we attack Iran.
Now if we don't attack Iran they can claim to have stood up to us and caused us to back down.
If America does attack Iran and they set off nukes in our major cities (D.C., NYC, LA, etc.) and cause mass panic and chaos in the country, they show that they are capable of carrying out their threats.
Granted the Middle East may glow in the dark, if they did do something like that, but we are not at war with a rational people. Just MHO. - OB1

That's an interesting war they are running. They first show us pictures of their weapons. Then they tell us where they are going to do it. And then, they just walk right in and pull it off.
If they were that stupid, we wouldn't have two big buildings down.

Now, now, we must not upset the liberals by calling for the extension of their "friends" in the middle east. We must be more tolerant. We must understand why they hate us. We must not judge them harshly. We must love them, cuddle them, give them money, ask their forgiveness, etc. We must not fear them. They simply want to be our friends. (sarcasm still on).
Will they then expect the reverse to happen; that if someone uses a nuclear device in the U.S., we'll obliterate Iran?
Now there is a country in the world threatening over and over and over to use NUCLEAR WEAPONS on their enemies, and the anti-war, pacifist, anti-nuclear lefties are mute.
And just what do they think the result will be? Lets start a contest on what to call the sand pile we used to call Iran.

If they possess nukes, and have the capability to bring them in, then they will nuke the US whether Iran is attacked or not.

I still don't see (when people mention this option) what kind of deterrence that has. Most of the people in those places you mentioned have no ideas what is going on. They are not involved in operations. They don't fight in the wars and so on. They couldn't stop a single terrorist operation if they tried. So, I fail to understand what they have to do with it.
Now, on the other hand, I think the religion of Islam should be destroyed. That's another matter. I think we can destroy that and allow those people (the millions of current Muslims) find another religion. It's an evil religion and that religion needs to be destroyed, because it's a Satanic religion and it has them enslaved (just as the Bible points out that Satan enslaves and oppresses others through his lies and guile and deception). That's Islam for you.
The people are one thing and the religion is another.
By the way, if you start bombing these other areas because of the Muslims there -- you are going to have to bomb larges areas of the United States, too. If you don't, then there is no consistency to your reasoning.

I don't know whether they can get functioning nukes into America. I do believe, however, that they would have used them by now if they already have them here.
