Patrick Kennedy To Seek Treatment(Kennedy to Mayo Clinic-Kennedy with Mayo!!)

Rep. Patrick J. Kennedy said yesterday that he is entering treatment for an addiction to prescription medications, an announcement that comes as police continue their investigation into a car crash involving the congressman near the Capitol.

Calling his addiction a "chronic disease," Kennedy said he does not even recall the accident, which occurred early Thursday and raised questions about his behavior and how U.S. Capitol Police deal with members of Congress.

The congressman's office has said Kennedy (D-R.I.) was disoriented behind the wheel because he had taken prescription medication to calm stomach inflammation and to help him sleep. No one was injured in the crash, but Kennedy almost hit a Capitol Police car head-on before slamming into a security barrier, authorities said.

Kennedy, 38, said yesterday that he has been battling problems with addiction and depression since he was a young man and that he will seek immediate treatment at the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota. He was a patient there during Congress's winter break, he said, and thought he had returned to Washington "reinvigorated and healthy."...."

Legacy of Lying with the whole Kennedy family pissing on the public and the MSM assuring everyone that it is raining.

Kennedys - Proud sponsors of the Michael Skakel Celebrity Golf Tournament and the William Kennedy Smith Sadie Hawkins Day Barhopping Marathon.

This little extra bit wouldn't fit in my tagline.

Kennedy is screwed as far as a Senate seat goes.

I wouldn't be too sure about that. PK has been an ongoing addict since he was a cocaine snorting teen and yet RI keeps sending him to DC as their rep. However, and a big however, there goes Big Daddy Ted's last dreams of seeing PK as a Kennedy president.

"...Ted's last dreams of seeing PK as a Kennedy president."

That is Science fiction if he ever believed that. Kennedy is just a name outside of the east coast and I think PK is toast as far as the Senate goes. He is to big a public addict.

Kennedy: (1) "I didn't ask the police for any special treatment."

Patrick does not have to ask.

Daddy pays the bills and handles the details.

I simply do not remember getting out of bed or being pulled over by the police

I believe this much of his statement because he was probably never in bed, and the police didn't pull him over .... he crashed into a concrete barricade. The rest of his statement was simply self serving BS.

The Kennedy Mayo visit is all PR.

The old media will be happy with this fluff cover story.

After the long weekend, Kennedy will be back to drinking and driving.

The Police say that they were prevented from giving Kennedy a sobriety test .

On the other hand, if the Congressman had been a Republican...

The media will take the clinic explanation and let that go, but Kennedy is screwed as far as a Senate seat goes.

Why would you think that? The kind of people who would elect him as a congressman would have no qualms about electing him as a senator, and if by chance they wouldn't, he could always move home to MA, they'll elected anything with the name Kennedy there.

The Mayo Clinic can't cure the "Kennedy" disease. Its best described as a open zipper, an open bottle, loose morals and no conscience.

Cynthia McKinney’s reaction to the obvious and blatant favoritism enjoyed by Patrick Kennedy is likely to be something to savor.

She is already on the record about the indignities she received at the hand of a white cop.

But now she sees that for the white boy, supervisors stepped in, relieving the officers at the scene and driving the staggering Kennedy home.

She faces potential legal jeopardy, and now a rich white boy walks away without so much as a breathalyzer test from circumstances that would ordinarily demand a drunk driving investigation.

At least one cop reportedly says he smelled alcohol.

Never known for self-control or thoughtfulness, Representative McKinney is going to have a hard time keeping her mouth shut.

She could denounce favoritism, of course. But she is asking for favoritism herself, so that won’t work out too well. Even McKinney can see this.

So she will demand “equal treatment” – meaning equal immunity from the laws which govern the rest of us.

But that argument raises awkward questions for the rest of the United States Congress.

Who will be the first member of Congress to stand-up and demand hearings on the Capitol Police’s treatment of members of Congress?

Wouldn't that be a great left wing cat fight between the racist McKinney and the drunk/doper Kennedy?

Kiss the Senate goodbye Patrick.

Not so quick.

Easterners seem to have an unhealthy affection for this family that borders on religious reverence. They'd vote for Limbaugh if he changed his name to Rush Kennedy.

I have heard about the alcohol; also heard some lefty on MSM say "no one has mentioned that he smelled of alcohol..." Do you know if they actually said this?

Hey, if a Kennedy was driving either way on any road I was driving or riding. I would appreciate an Amber Alert to warn me.
