On Sunday's This Week, George Stephanopoulos not once but twice, referred to Democratic House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi as Speaker, a title she would presumably get if Democrats win back the House this fall.
So, a Freudian slip by Stephanopoulos, a one-time staff member for the Democratic House leadership himself when they were in the majority?
Before signing aboard the Clinton campaign in 1991, Stephanopoulos was a floor assistant to then-House Majority Leader Dick Gephardt.
Interviewing Congressman Tom DeLay, the former House Majority Leader who suggested that if Democrats win control of the House they will pursue impeachment, Stephanopoulos countered:
Democrats are also coming forward with another agenda, Speaker, ah perhaps Speaker Pelosi , she's certainly not the Speaker right now, the Democratic leader Pelosi says...
Then with DNC Chairman Howard Dean, Stephanopoulos asserted to Dean's delight: "You talked about an ethics legislation coming forward in the first hundred days, that was not one of the top four pieces of legislation that Speaker Pelo -- uh, excuse me, I don't know why I've got that stuck in my head today-"
Dean chortled: "I'm glad.
I like the sound of that George, I like the sound of that!"

You think so? I don't know. I haven't been seeing a lot of enthusiasm from Republicans (well, Republicans on FR are more enthusiastic than most, I think.)
I figure the only way the Democrats can win is if we don't show up, and I still think there is a reasonably high chance of that. I'm not so much thinking that Republicans are going to switch their votes to someone else, especially when it's just a Congressional election (most congressional districts don't even have more candidates than just a Republican and a Democrate running anyway, I think.)
I really think that another impeachment is a nonstarter for the public.
Eww, I didn't need the concepts of "Nancy Pelosi" and "orgasmic" in the same post. I think I'll just go gouge my eyes out now.
While this is happening the Jeffrey (Jeff) Dahmer wing of the Donner Party claiming to be the real conservative republicans, want us to set out the next election.
I hope they keep it up. that thought alone will make conservatives go to the polls in droves.
Steffie is all agenda, all the time.
Your post would be hilarious if it weren't so true.
If the White House and GOP controlled congress does not act immediately to seal the borders, penalize employers who hire illegals and deport illegals when caught, how will it affect your vote in November?
I'll believe it the first time I see a third of Republicans actually vote third party in a Congressional election.
I'm assuming it's going to end up working out more like 45.9% voting GOP, 5% actually voting third party, and the rest not showing up. Either way that's looking pretty horrible for the Republican party's chances unless they wake up. Or, say, the, Democrats hand them the election by threatening to impeach the President if they get elected.
I would say that if those poll results are among Republicans that are activist enough to post on FR -- well, I'm not sure why the rest of the Republicans would bother to show up to vote.
John Conyers will take over the Judiciary Committee and he has promised to launch impeachment hearings.
If that's all that's needed for Republicans to hold onto a majority, it's already in the bag.
The 'rats haven't just simply threatened impeachment ..........they've promised it.
Excuse me .. where have you been ..?? Pelosi was saying that already.
The little twirp probably gets a woody just thinking about Nancy Pelosi being the boss.
I DETEST ALL OF THEM!!! (I know, tell us how you really feel! )
Yeah that what happen when a Clintanoid pretends to be somethinbg other than just a patisan political hack.
Stephi better watch or he will become almost as blantant as Tip's old aide Chrissy Matthews. Guess we know where old Rat legislative aides end up--the MSM.
