President Ahmadinejad's letter to President Bush, widely interpreted as a peaceful overture, is in fact a declaration of war. The key sentence in the letter is the closing salutation. In an eight-page text of the letter being circulated by the Council on Foreign Relations, it is left untranslated and rendered as "Vasalam Ala Man Ataba'al hoda." What this means is "Peace only unto those who follow the true path."
It is a phrase with historical significance in Islam, for, according to Islamic tradition, in year six of the Hejira - the late 620s - the prophet Mohammad sent letters to the Byzantine emperor and the Sassanid emperor telling them to convert to the true faith of Islam or be conquered. The letters included the same phrase that President Ahmadinejad used to conclude his letter to Mr. Bush. For Mohammad, the letters were a prelude to a Muslim offensive, a war launched for the purpose of imposing Islamic rule over infidels.

Right and didnt Ima-ding-dong-ajad recently say that Israel was an "artificial" state or a falsehood, created by Europe in Palestine out of guilt?? If so, he probably does not think they need a warning.
That was supposedly just a murder for profit, but frankly, with all the connections, I have never believed that.
The cousin, I believe, was one of the good translators. There's another one - an Egyptian whom I heard at a translation conference two years ago, saying that he regretted he could not "help" the sheik more - who is now reposing in jail. He was the jailhouse interpreter who was smuggling messages, with the assistance of Lynne Stewart, to Rahman's buddies.
The problem is that, I suspect, they already have nukes or they wouldn't even be doing this. Secondly, they don't care if they lose. They're convinced that their 12th Imam is going to emerge out of a well in Tehran and make everything okay for them.
Sounds nutty, and that's why it's like being attacked by Mars, as somebody else pointed out.

Don't parade your childlike ignorance for the public to ridicule. There was no such warning prior to 9/11/2001. None before the USS Cole was bombed. None before our embassies in Africa were bombed. None before the Khobar Towers were bombed.
None before our troops were attacked in their barracks in Beirut, Lebanon. None before Blackhawk Down in Somalia. And none before our embassy was seized in Tehran, either.
Good points. I'm no expert on Iranian rhetoric, but this letter just looks like some retaliatory psyops and IMO people are making way too much out of it.
