Bush’s Approval Rating Drops (Harris Poll 29%)

President Bush’s job-approval rating has fallen to its lowest mark of his presidency, according to a new Harris Interactive poll. Of 1,003 U.S. adults surveyed in a telephone poll, 29% think Mr. Bush is doing an “excellent or pretty good” job as president, down from 35% in April and significantly lower than 43% in January.

Roughly one-quarter of U.S. adults say “things in the country are going in the right direction,” while 69% say “things have pretty seriously gotten off on the wrong track.” This trend has declined every month since January, when 33% said the nation was heading in the right direction. Iraq remains a key concern for the general public, as 28% of Americans said they consider Iraq to be one of the top two most important issues the government should address, up from 23% in April. The immigration debate also prompted 16% of Americans to consider it a top issue, down from 19% last month, but still sharply higher from 4% in March.

Of 1,003 U.S. adults surveyed in a telephone poll...

If you want poll results biased towards the left, you poll "registed voters". If you want to go for broke and want it really biased you poll "adults".

"Likely voter" polls are the most accurate and even those are iffy.

This poll is meaningless.

The only person President Bush needs approval from is Jesus Christ. And based on what I know of the man, I believe he has that. Everthing else is "vanity and vexation of spirit".

This poll is meaningless.

Even if it's 10% off, he is at 32% approval. If it's 20% off, it's 35% approval.

Denial isn't a river in Egypt.

What math are you using?

Pres. Bush has my approval.

(Although the approval of the One you mention is a lot more important than mine.)

If it's accurate, Bush has lost his base. (Below 30% = the base is gone)

Hi Hitman. Bush lost all of the polls by huge percentages during the last election when "adults" were polled yet he won the presidency.

This poll means nothing.

His approval rate is 29%. If that figure is 10% off, in his favor, he gains 3 percentage points (10% of 29). 32%.

20% is 6 points, or 35%.

I use the same math as most people.

If you don't like the latest "poll," wait 15 minutes.

Even if the polls say the President's "job approval" is at minus zero I wouldn't give a fig. I don't need no stinking poll to do my thinking for me. I stand with this President. Period.

Gee... I guess the MSM pollsters will have him down to negative 25% by November. What utter nonsense!

Nobody says it does your thinking for you. It's a measurement of how many like minded people are in the electorate. A president who doesn't have the confidence of most Americans is weak (whether you personally agree with them or not).

Jesus kicked butt in the promised land for the Israelis with the expulsion of a horde of wicked nations. That is of course if you believe Jesus is the Lord God Jehovah. If you don't, then Jesus was just a good man.
