A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day
Free Republic made its debut in September, 1996, and the forum was added in early 1997.   Over 100,000 people have registered for posting privileges on Free Republic, and the forum is read daily by tens of thousands of concerned citizens and patriots from all around the country and the world.
A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day was introduced on June 24, 2002. It's only a small room in JimRob's house where we can get to know one another a little better; salute and support our military and our leaders; pray for those in need; and congratulate those deserving. We strive to keep our threads entertaining, fun, and pleasing to look at, and often have guest writers contribute an essay or a profile of another FReeper.
On Mondays please visit us to see photos of A FEW OF FR'S VETERANS AND ACTIVE MILITARY
If you have a suggestion, or an idea, or if there's a FReeper you would like to see featured, please drop one of us a note in FR mail.
We're having fun and hope you are!

Welcome to TGIF at the Finest!   We hope you've been having as much fun as we have with our essays and/or spotlight on various FReepers. From the beginning, we've been kicking back on Saturdays and Sundays and simply reviewing the features of the week; our weekend threads now start on Friday and continue through Sunday. If you missed seeing any of this week's threads and want to say hello there now, just click on the link for that particular day. If you'd like to drop in and out of this thread today through Sunday, please feel free to do that also. One of us will try to be around to see the welcome mat is still out, put the coffee pot on, and maybe even bring fresh flowers for the table. : )

"Wear Red" Friday
You will soon see a lot of people wearing Red on Fridays. Here's why..... The Americans, who support our troops, are the silent majority. We are not "organized" to reflect who we are, or to reflect what our opinions are. Many Americans, like yourself, and all their friends, simply want to recognize that Americans support our troops. Our idea of showing our solidarity and support for our troops is starting Friday and continuing on each and every Friday, until this is over, that every red-blooded American who supports our young men and women, WEAR SOMETHING RED.

Word of mouth, press, TV -- let's see if we can make the United States, on any given Friday, a sea of red much like a home football game at a University. If every one of our memberships share this with other acquaintances, fellow workers, friends, and neighbors, I guarantee that it will not be long before the USA will be covered in RED - and make our troops know there are many people thinking of their well-being. You will feel better all day Friday when you wear Red! So let's get the word out and lead by example; wear RED on Fridays.

SUPPORT OUR TROOPS! WE LIVE IN THE LAND OF THE FREE, BECAUSE OF THE BRAVE. FOR US, THEIR BLOOD RUNS RED!! GOD BLESS AMERICA.
received this in my email June 10th, the author is unknown.
I am wearing red today and every Friday ~ Billie

Have a great day.

Interesting from previous conversations I thought Americans called what I know as a hand bag or shoulder bag a purse but both of you used the term handbag or bag.

"I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth. —3 John 1:4"

How wonderfully appropriate this is to contemplate and savor!
In the past month, it has been punctuated over and over, and indeed - -

Truly, my
!!

April brought a visit with our older son and wife, in SC on vacation. We celebrated Steve's birthday together.
Kevin and Susan call often from Florida, with news of them and their sons. They both teach teenager Sunday School classes, and Christopher and Nickolas have always attended a Christian School in West Palm Beach.

Our daughter, Jennifer, and Bill hold home group Bible studies on Tuesday nights.
Her older daughter has secured a position as a field chemist, graduating from college in December, and in 2 weeks will be moving to Memphis, her life launched..

Tuesday brought the wonder of a second great-grandchild, and this evening Kyle called us to describe with obvious awe how *complete* he and Roxanne feel with their little girl!
Her name is not Ava, I learned, my s-i-l misspelling it -
pronounced like 'Ava'- but is spelled Eva, as in Eva Peron.

They were able to bring her home yesterday, the hospital sending a special blue light for them to use for slight jaundice, which is common in newborns. We'll be going to see them in two weeks, after they're settled in.

In all three families, they are secure in following the Lord, and as the verse says, nothing brings a parent more joy than this!

It extends also to my two stepchildren, who live in the Midwest.
Cheryl is recovering from her second spinal surgery and the house she is having built will be finished soon.
Roger and his Lisa married Saturday the 6th of May. He describes her as "a lady and GODly!"

Let's see - her two children bring the total of all our grands to - -
an even dozen - and two great-grands!

There is no description adequate to express the profound joys at this end of life....
I praise and thank our loving, gracious and awesome God.

I am asking for your thoughts and prayers.

My daughter, who has a chronic illness and chronic pain for many many years, has been having chest pains and is going for more tests tomorrow at the hospital..My son has had a quadruple bypass and my husband, their father, died of a heart attack. The stress of surgery for her would be so very difficult.

She has an unexplained infection and has been on antibiotics 4 months. This sadly happens a lot.. She has so much chronic pain that I am praying this is unrelated to a heart condition..but she does have high cholesterol. She is unable to take a regular stress test..This test is different .

I pray
Lord God, You are the God of all knowledge who ever watches over Your Children. We pray Your hand of wisdom and knowledge be upon the entire staff of medical people who have my daughter's care in their hands. Enlighten them beyond their own ability; and we pray this boldly because we know that You care for us, and that You have all healing in Your hands. Strengthen her,my son in law and my family for whatever her heart test shows and whatever lies ahead for her. Watch over her Navy son. I pray you enable us to trust as we place her in Your loving hands.

In Jesus name we pray; Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Amen.

And AMEN Meg.

I am so sorry you daughter has yet another rung on her list of medical problems and with the family history of cardiac problems it appears a valid situation to have concern over.

Will pray for you all through this.. On mother's day weekend you have shared that we aren't just mothers when they are nursing & in the growing up years.. Motherhood is for a lifetime & we will always share their joys & their pain.

Hugs to you across the miles

Thank you,Dolly, for prayers and hugs..Yes, our motherhood is indeed for all our life...through good times and the bad times. I finally let "past history" prey on my mind and decided a prayer request was in order. My son is coming today so that is a happy note.
