The puff piece starts out: “John Kerry starts by showing the entry in a log he kept from 1969: “Feb 12: 0800 run to Cambodia.” Right off the bat, this is the first piece where the Swift Boat Vets were 100% correct. At the time, John Kerry stated that his trip took place on Christmas Eve in 1968. The SBV were right at the time, he was NOT iN Cambodia on Christmas Eve of 1968. Kerry had said that this moment was “seared” into him. After the Vets came out, Kerry had his personal biographer come out and it changed to “sometime in January.” Apparently all along it had been February 12, 1969. (And he has a hat to prove it)....
Sweetness and Light also brings up the point about the after-action report on the kid that Kerry shot. (The slimes “proved” that Kerry was telling the truth because the kid was laying on his back, not his stomach, and thus it would have been impossible for Kerry to have shot him while running away. Physics denies it!)

We are over his Presidential run, and isnt on out TV every day and night... BUT ... We are not completely over him yet. He is still 1 of 50 US Senators. He is still passing laws and spinning socialism with Ted Kennedy. He is still impacting all of us everytime the Senate votes. As long as he is in the Senate, we are still dealing with this ding-dong.
Think about this...the dude could have signed the DD180 back in the election and settled 30 percent of his issues...but he didn't. This story in the press...about him signing the document for release...is just a story and has never proven itself. He did the same thing last summer on Larry King...promising to sign the document very shortly....and never has.
He has no reason to release the document now...and it merely opens up doors that he shut in the 1970s. After the Carter administration cleaned his bad conduct discharge...he was free to run for the senate or do any public service he wanted...except be president. He should have considered just keeping his mouth shut and staying safe in the senate.

This man was in a big way responsible for smearing all the living and dead who served in Vietnam. It was a terrible time for our country but this man sat before Congress and knowingly told lies, that our men in Vietnam were raping babies, killing civilians, cutting off body parts.. And then he had the gall to proclaim that he could be a good Commander In Chief. |

There is no evidence that any naval craft were used after the early 60s to infiltrate into either Cambodia or Laos. All cross border operations during the time Kerry was in Vietnam were under the authority of MACV SOG. In the case of where Kerry was operating, it would have been an organization known as Command and Control South (CCS) based out of Ban Me Thout. H-34 helicopters were the primary vehicle used for insertions. Occasionally Hueys would be used.
The orders would have to have come through Kerry's chain of command, especially since the Army ran the cross border operations, and a request for support would have had to go from the CO CCS through MACVSOG to IV Corps and ultimately to the Navy commander in the area.
All cross border operations during that time required a top secret security clearance, and all insertion vehicles, weapons and soldiers had all identification removed. Weapons even had serial numbers removed. This was to ensure deniability.

I'm still just shakin' my head and trying to figure out what total lack of brain power made the Slime or kerry (Yes, the lower case is there for a reason) poke a stick into the hornets' nest again.........
- Maybe somebody on kerry's legal team told him that they've spent enough on litigation that the Swiftys are "almost-just-about-maybe" silenced and the time has come to celebrate and also smoke out any other potential troublemakers.
- Maybe the Slime's sources inside the Beltway are in Silent Run/CYA mode until the heat dies down about the NSA leaks, and this Ode to kerry was the only thing they could find to print for Memorial Day.

I got into blogging because of John Kerry's "reporting for duty" and as support for the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth. I was contributing to their site and wanted to expand on a comment I'd written there, and the rest is history as I started The Squiggler Please join us this weekend in "Honoring our Fallen Heroes." Real heroes, not the phony Kerry kind. My Navy husband was not a Swift Boater, but he was attached to the Mobile Riverine Force, Mekong Delta at the same time Lt. John Kerry was serving there. They were the rescue and salvage team that went out and brought the damaged Swift Boats back for repairs. I first heard about "a cowardly LT" in early 1969. And then again in 1971-1972 after his "Winter Soldier" embarrassment. The reaction I had the night he stood up there and saluted and "reported for duty," my reaction was intense and visceral and brought back all those old memories. John Kerry, next to Jane Fonda, was and is one of the most despised people of the Vietnam Era.
