In your face: Macy's Department Store in Boston has prominent display window for "Gay Pride Week"
Article 8 Alliance ^

Posted on 06/06/2006 8:07:05 PM PDT by Coleus

Take action now! (Here's how. . . see below.)

hello
Main door of Macy's Department Store in downtown Boston. Note the display
window at bottom left.

View of the display window from the street, clearly and blatantly celebrating
"gay pride week" with two homosexual men.

Very bizarre. One mannequin is wearing what looks like some
of rainbow skirt. And when was the last time you saw male store
mannequins with breasts like those? What's that all about?

Macy's needs to hear from America!  Here's what to do and who to call.

Call as many of these numbers below as you have time for. Leave a message if you can''t get through, but keep trying until you get to a person. And continue calling every day until you know this is taken down. (There are also email addresses below.)

Your message to Macy's is simple: Take this display down immediately.

Don't put up with any double-talk, or excuses. Macy's seems to think they can offend you with impunity. They may tell you they'll write you a letter about this. Tell them you're not interested in a letter -- or any "explanations" of their position -- just take this down immediately.  And if you're in downtown Boston we encourage you to personally visit the Macy's Boston office, which is in the lower level (just below street level) in the store, just behind the Juniors Department.

Even if you don't live in Massachusetts this is important.

Mr. Terry Lundgren, President if Macy's
(New York City)
800-264-0069
[Even if they won't put you directly to his office, make sure that whoever you talk to gets him your message loud and clear.]

Linda Stahley
Manager, Boston Macy's
[She'd clearly not want to talk to you, but definitely call anyway!]

James Gray
President, Macy's East Coast Operations

Customer Service Office:

Hours: Monday - Saturday 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM
Sunday 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM.

Macy's East Coast Public Relations (New York City):
Elina Kazan
[Let her know that this is BAD public relations!]
212-494-4624

Special Events Coordinator, Boston office:
Robin Rydell
[She has acknowledged to us that it was her decision to put up the "gay pride" window display!]
617-357-2727

And just what is Macy's celebrating?

(From Bay Windows homosexual newspaper, 2004) Here's a photo from the Boston Pride
Parade of (we're not kidding) women who have had their breasts surgically removed, and
are marching as bare-chested "men." This is what Macy's is celebrating!

It's posts like this that show where we differ so drastically.

First, who cares what a urban department store does.
Second, since the very first indoor mall was opened in London, the mall culture has been heavily influenced by gays lesbians trannies etc.
Third, you are talking about the fashion world, if you don't want to promote gay commerce, go wear homespun canvas britches.
Fourth, It's quite obvious that the display designer took a "misses" manequin torso and added all men's body parts. funny in a juvenile way and nothing original.
Fifth, Private commerce. Macy's puts displas up like that, in front of one of the "man refuges" where wives/gf's/moms/daughters drop off their men to go shopping, and Macy's will lose out in the long term. Each article in that display is now "gay", like pink popped collar polo shirts. All going to liquidators at the end of season.

Now, I'd say having to explain to a child why the daddy mannequin has boobs can be uncomfortable, the world won't revolve around protecting the parent's right to not be offended by that display.

2. The Straight people that shop at Macy's are educated and wealthy and less likely to be offended by gays in the windows.

I'm confused, EDUCATED and WEALTHY... this sounds like a statement from someone who would post on DU. Just like things I hear from the left..."We know we are right because WE are enlightened and educated"...blah, blah, blah. To be smart and have worked hard in your life to become "wealthy" doesn't mean you have to lose your convictions and embrace the homosexual agenda, that is ravishing our kids today.

My old friend you delve into the jar of debate wherein you scoop and slather all about the dressing on the meat with your casual and careless use of the word homophobes in the same and certain sense of the bread on which it rests the term puritan and its ancient suspicion; the simple fact remains, a sandwich needs to be partaken neatly and whole.

We have no right not to be wronged while it is wrong to deny a right, am I wrong?

In the name of fairness nad tolerance, will Macy's also celebrate the Ex-gay in a display window?

Otherwise they are offending hundreds of thousands of those who have overcome sames sex attraction!

Sorry, but Macy's bought out May Department Stores. Filene's and Kaufmann's are going away, to be replaced by Macy's.

"Gay Pride" will go over well in the heartland. Not!
