My son operated in Ramadi last year on a QRF (quick reaction force) which consisted of 3 sometimes 4 hummers. 3 hummers will carry 12 - 16 men.....a squad....with enough fire power to sustain themselves and inflict lots of reciprical damage until help (a QRF) arrives should they come under attack
.....these guys are the best trained in the world....bar NONE!....In this instance it seems they got seperated for some unknown reason....(same happened to my son one day and he has a Purple Heart and a NAM to show for it) it is war and bad shit happens sometimes.....everything doesn't go by the book when the shit hits the fan around you..........

Unfortunately this is not at all surprising. Since Al Qaeda is losing in Iraq they have resorted to typical barbaric tactics. This is run of the mill communist pyschological warfare. The same that was done to lower support from the public during Vietnam. It seems to work on the liberal douche bag media too!
Their rationale is "oh how terrible, we should leave those people alone if they are going to be that barbaric, lets pull out!" which is of course, insanity.
As Col. David Hunt so wisely advises, the only way to fight this war is to kill kill kill the bad guys!! Overwhelming force SHOULD be used but we all know what will really happen here. If we did do what needs to be done we would probably have more soldiers sitting in the brig for doing their job.

I am not a parent or spouse or relative of a troop, but I am proud and I cry too. I have "adopted" many troops over the past few years.
Your son is indeed special to be a Marine and to merit the Achievement Medal.
He and others like him give me hope for the future of this Nation. These troops have inspired me to greater patriotism and to fight to preserve America domestically.

Yes, that's certainly what the libs are going to say.
I have been really horrified by this story, like all of us, and at first I thought that the libs were probably going to draw out all the gory details and fixate on it to scare people out of Iraq. But then it occurred to me that what they will probably do is make it go away fast, the way they did 9/11.
No more gruesome details will come out, just as we ceased to see the awful 9/11 images, because it might make us angry and might make us even more committed to winning.No, there'll be just a vague hint that something bad happened but also an implication that it was somehow our fault. After all, the media wouldn't want to make their terrorist darlings look bad, would they?
I know much more then you assume about both - And yes, both the values of freedom and self-worth are indeed spreading on the ground throughout Iraq and Stan (and in the end they will be our two biggest allies in this WOT...this war against radical Islam).
