The New York Times
September 24, 2001 Monday Late Edition - Final SECTION: Section A; Column 1; Editorial Desk; Pg. 30 LENGTH: 545 words HEADLINE: Finances of Terror
Organizing the hijacking of the planes that crashed into the World Trade Center and the Pentagon took significant sums of money. [snip] Washington and its allies must also disable the financial networks used by terrorists.
[snip]
Much more is needed, including stricter regulations, the recruitment of specialized investigators and greater cooperation with foreign banking authorities. There must also must be closer coordination among America's law enforcement, national security and financial regulatory agencies.
[snip]
Though some smaller financial transactions are likely to slip through undetected even after new rules are in place, much of the financing needed for major attacks could dry up.

"CIA operatives like Plame"
Do you even bother with the facts? Her "outing" was the equivalent of publishing the identity of a member of the steno pool at Langley.
There have to be other websites where your drivel would be welcomed as enlightening and clever. This isn't one of them.
"Arrogant, hypocritical, and stupid is no way to go thru life, Pinch"
"Book 'em, Danno. Pinch 'em, too"
Thanks for the ping.
Outstanding is correct!
Thank you for the ping!
ROTFLOL at both of YOU!
HA!
I think you two really enjoy this. ;o)
This Editorial is being quoted on morning radio shows today - attributed to Powerline. I guess that is because he posted the entire editorial.
It's not only you who thinks PS is a POS. His staff laughs at his intellectual pretensions. It's tough when you are unliked by both Left and Right. It's also tough running a big newspaper with a room-temperature IQ.
Looks like this got some coverage on "Grapevine" last night.

I sent the NYT link to Brit Hume. Thanks for posting it. This editorial from the Times should be getting a LOT of coverage, word for word.
PS, the POS, may be the best thing that has happened to conservatives.
His outrageous behavior has galvanized us and is turning off a lot of moderates.
A Korean War Vet and his wife. who we have known for years, have cancelled their Ny Times Sunday edition which they have subscribed to for 5 decades. They have cancelled their subscription to the Santa Rosa Press Democrat Fishwrap which is owned by the Ny Slimes.
They are moderates or the old type of Democrats. He is running a personal campaign in the retirement home they live in to get other residents to cancel both newspaper subscriptions. He was outraged 2 months ago, and I can imagine how he feels now.
Thanks for the ping!
Great find! I heard this on the news but well after you posted this!
