Can a Green Card holder own a hand gun here in the US?
With the exception of the .380, none of these weapons are suitable for concealed carry. They're all too big.
Yes
In Virginia you can.
Do not forget the 1911 45 ACP. Big Fat Slow Bullets do it better.
I googled your sentence and this site came up, FWIW.

Being pro-RKBA generally, I would have to personally come down in support of any legal resident having a right to carry. Rather be too broad than too narrow.
I noticed you jumped from a 9mm to a 40 cal . I have a Colt 38 Super (Panther), best gun I ever owned. Not only does it hit with the wallop of a 357 ( b/c it uses +P ammo ),it has little recoil and the clip holds 10 with 1 in the chamber. With the 5 in. barrel, I can get off long, accurate shots.
What UN army is going to take our guns away? They can't even prevent atrocities in 3rd world countries when they are standing there watching it.
Para Ordnance P10.
"Since most of my readers are seeking pistols lately, rather than revolvers,"
Since when did revolvers stop being pistols? Pistol is a generic term for a firearm normally held in one hand, with a short barrel. A pistol could be a single-shot firearm, a revolver, or a semi-automatic. Some pistols are even full-auto. All are pistols.
Perhaps the nomenclature has changed somehow in my lifetime, but I don't think so.
I just hate seeing people misuse firearms terminology. This guy holds himself up as an expert, but makes a bonehead error in terminology.
We're always pointing out such errors when they're made by the other side. We need to be careful, I think.
And a .380 has the knockdown power of a mayfly.
There's a pocket Glock in.40 that's very concealable, as well as some really small .45s [although the recoil is probably a bear]. With .45s, though, the issue is price.
What I don't understand is why Prof. Adams is: [a] Taking pistols on hunting trips instead of revolvers, and [b] taking smaller caliber handguns when he's hunting game with bigbore rifles. When I hunt boar, I use a .45-70 Guide gun - and carry a .44 mag Bisley as backup.
I know that permanent residents can.
Ruger 10/22 ????(it's a rifle).... maybe he meant 22/45
