A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day
Free Republic made its debut in September, 1996, and the forum was added in early 1997.   Over 100,000 people have registered for posting privileges on Free Republic, and the forum is read daily by tens of thousands of concerned citizens and patriots from all around the country and the world.
A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day was introduced on June 24, 2002. It's only a small room in JimRob's house where we can get to know one another a little better; salute and support our military and our leaders; pray for those in need; and congratulate those deserving. We strive to keep our threads entertaining, fun, and pleasing to look at, and often have guest writers contribute an essay, or a profile of another FReeper.
On Mondays please visit us to see photos of A FEW OF FR'S VETERANS AND ACTIVE MILITARY
If you have a suggestion, or an idea, or if there's a FReeper you would like to see featured, please drop one of us a note in FR mail.
We're having fun and hope you are!

Hezbollah Virus being eradicated by miraculous IDF cure

Did Hezbollah go to war without enough troops and without a plan to win the *piece*? With Hez getting its bollah hopelessly bogged down ever deeper in quagmire, where's their exit strategy? Fortunately, Israel has been magnanimous and generous enough to supply one for them -- in the form of air-to-ground missiles strikes, hits from helicopter gunships, shelling from gunboats and mobile artillery pieces, even as reports surfaced that Israel appeared to be softening conditions . . . conditions on the ground in Hezbollahville in preparation for a possible ground offensive. Bridges and roads have been struck, cutting off Hezbollah supply and escape routes, and an air and sea blockade has been imposed. More please.

The AP tearfully reports that Israeli fighter bombers have been blasting the airport and alleged "residential" buildings "in the southern suburbs of the capital, igniting fuel storage tanks and cutting off the main highway to Syria," and knocking out juice to much of the Lebanese capital. Even more heartbreaking, CNN's bureau remains intact.

It is estimated that the bombing in Lebanon will set Lebanon back -- from the Middle Ages to the early Middle Ages.

As press reports have noted, Hezbollah is a fundamentalist Islamic group with close ties to Syria, which is run by the Baathists -- the same Baathists who have no ties to fundamentalist Islamic groups.

As thousands of northern Israelis rushed into bomb shelters to avoid Hezbollah rocket attacks, Hezbollah ran to its favorite bomb shelters -- the U.N., the "international community" and the Democrats. Israel opens up a can of whup-ass, and the Hezbos go whining to the U.N. like sissies. Reaction to Israel from the "international community' has been to scream, 'Disproportionate!' Yes, you would think Hezbollah had murdered and kidnapped Israelis or something.

"French President Jacques Chirac castigated the Israeli offensive in Lebanon," the AP reports. Israel's response was excessive, complained the castigator. Years of rocket attacks on its cities. Murder and kidnapping. Suicide bombings. Obviously, it's a mystery why Israel would respond. And when it comes to getting advice on how to do nothing while your country is under attack, the French are your go-to-guys.

Russian President Vladimir Putin urged all sides to exercise 'restraint' -- just like the Russians when they invaded Afghanistan. Spain's Prime Minister warned Israel it was "making a mistake" by attacking Hezbollah. Israel must be quivering at the thought of Hezbollah's fierce Air Force.

Iranian leader Ahmadinejad says he still doubts the Holocaust and blasted Israel for acting just like the Nazis in the Holocaust. He warned that Israeli action may well set off an explosion in the Islamic world. Watch out! Muslims may start killing people.

"Humanitarian" U.N. honcho Jan Egeland said the bombing of Beirut's airport and Israel's blockade of seaports and borders "is a violation of international law." Unlike those darling little innocent law-abiding chaps in Hezbolland. Democrats at Daily Kos also blasted the Jews. "Nobody in their right mind can call Hamas and Hezbollah terrorists and then call Israel something else," writes one Hezbollahcrat. "But Hezbollah is emerging," the writer brags, "surprising Israel with their arms and tactics. Their attacks of late, including the kidnappings, were well planned out ahead of time." Yes, that's why Hezbollah fighters are stacking up at the morgue. Apparently, Hezbollah is the first militia group the Democrats like.

Let's see, the latest weenie roast began after Hezbollah last week crossed into Israel from the north, kidnapping and killing Israeli soldiers, which happened after Hamas crossed into Israel from the south, kidnapping and killing Israeli soldiers, which happened after weeks of sustained rocket attacks on the Israeli town of Sderot, made possible after Israel pulled out of Gaza as part of the "land for peace" initiative, which happened after years of rocket attacks on northern Israel, made possible after Israel pulled out of Lebanon as part of the "land for peace" initiative.

For some reason, the more real estate Israel surrenders to Islamowhackjobs, the more real estate the Islamowhackjobs want. Give land to homicidal Islamic maniacs touting names like Hamas and Hezbollah and, whattayaknow, they act like homicidal Islamic maniacs. What a shame.

This is called the 'Piece Process,' a piece-by-piece hand-over of the Jewish state until there's no more Jewish state. And no more 'Jooooos.'

Take recent history. Immediately after the end of Gulf War I, a massive 'advance' in the "Peace Process" took place when Bush 41 put together a meeting in Madrid, Spain, in which a series of historic talks happened. The historic talks in Madrid were replaced by a series of historic talks in Washington, D.C., replaced by a series of historic talks in London, replaced by a series of historic talks in Oslo, which culminated in the breakthrough 1993 Oslo Peace Accords, in which everyone agreed to hold another series of historic talks.

But! One hitch. The talks and the 'historics' would continue only so long as Israel agreed that Israel had to make more concessions -- transfer more authority to the "Palestinians," hand over more land to the "Palestinians" in exchange for "peaceful co-existence" with people who think they were put on Earth to kill you. In a region filled with countries not known for their overwhelming love for the Jews. All firmly on the basis of zero "Palestinian" contribution to peace.

Thus *land-for-peace* "Oslo I" led to *land-for-peace* "Oslo II," followed by the Hebron Protocol, followed by the Wye River Memorandum, followed by the Sharm el-Sheikh Memorandum, or Final Status Memorandum (57 years after another famous Final Status agreement, otherwise known as Hitler's "Final Solution.")

But the method to the madness here is that, in each wonderful step of the piece process, from Camp David to the Sharm el-Sheikh-down, Israel withdraws or 'redeploys' or pulls out from here or there under pressure in return for less security. Sorta like the 'John Kerry plan' to make America safe, which is to pull out of Iraq. Iran's mullahs and imams want us out, so you wave the white hanky, politely say 'yes, imam!', and pull out. Keep on retreating like this and all you're doing is making America itself the battlefield.

The logic of the Bush Doctrine is that you don't win wars on defense; by fighting them there, you don't have to fight them here. The net result of all of Israel's withdrawals and pull-outs from 'disputed territories' has been to make Israel itself disputed territory. With its offensive in Lebanon, Israel is now attempting to reverse that. Libbies fear the bombing raids will lead to a massive escalation, with Iran and Syria becoming targets. I certainly hope so.

Anyway, that's...

My Two Cents...

When I lived in Houston I went to a store like that & for the life of me I cannot remember the name. It was a 24 hour store & I worked weird/varying hours as a chaplain with a hospital & hospice & so would often stop there for food, drink, shop.

It was very close to my apt complex & also there was a 24 hour LARGE cineplx of 2nd run movies (the one dollar variety).. after dealing with much that I had with my work.. I would often go & watch a few movies to get away.

I was in the south west quadrant of Houson & affiliated with SouthWest Memorial which is now part of Hermann

Thank you so much for these devotional readings, Mayor!

We need to “set [our] mind on things above, not on things on the earth” (Colossians 3:2).

A parable from our Master Jesus in Matthew 24 comes to mind:

“Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his master made ruler over his household, to give them food in due season? Blessed is that servant whom his master, when he comes, will find so doing. Assuredly, I say to you that he will make him ruler over all his goods. But if that evil servant says in his heart, ‘My master is delaying his coming,’ and begins to beat his fellow servants, and to eat and drink with the drunkards, the master of that servant will come on a day when he is not looking for him and at an hour that he is not aware of, and will cut him in two and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites. There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth."

Also, this reminder:
"And shall God not avenge His own elect who cry out day and night to Him, though He bears long with them? I tell you that He will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will He really find faith on the earth?”

Also He spoke this parable to some who trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised others: Luke 18...
