I cannot believe Shep Smith is presenting himself as competent to assess the IDF campaign in Lebanon. I remember this dilettante babbling about "just carpet bombing" in Afghanistan right before the Taliban was routed. Why is it that every TV newsman with a mike in his hands thinks he can pontificate on any subject regardless of his knowledge of it? What silly philistines these newsmen are.
Look, you just have to realize that Shep Smith is a little girl. He screams like a little girl, he panics like a little girl, and he throws hissy fits like a little girl. Once you understand that about him you can just laugh every time he comes on camera.
Because research shows that the most intelligent people in the world think they are of "average" intelligence while those who are below average intelligence think they are geniuses and the more below average they are, the more superior they belive they are to others. From Shep's pontification, I would judge his IQ to be just above that of an idiot.

But I am not surprised: People with extraordinary IQs often have a bit of a deficit in what we might call "wisdom."
Einstein did some good physics but quite a bit of his pontificating on the human condition was not especially worthy, IMHO.
Of course, Einstein will always be big in college-town poster shops and such, because he appeals to snot-nose sophomores who suspect that they, too, are intellectually superior to most everyone else.
These rather strong comments not directed at all at you Randy...I have quoted Einstein plenty of times. And one can't go wrong pointing to the folly of mankind. Still, the quote stuck me as terribly arrogant on the part of the great genius. It was not far from expressing contempt for the general run of mankind, a lower species from his point of view. To bad someone like Laura Ingraham wasn't around to tell him to "Shutup and calculate."

I'm not a logician, but I believe that's a reductio ad absurdum. How you jump from bad reporter to lets just kill him is quite a stretch. Why don't you just say that you like shlep and think he's a fine reporter. I don't like shlep because shlep is a disgustingly biased reporter. We just disagree but that doesn't mean people are ready to kill him. Arriving at that conclusion is an exercise in high comedy.
Shep's not going anywhere, unless it's by his choice.

Roger needs to call him back to New York and let him anchor from the studio. Tobin and Hemmer should get more air time because they are doing actual reporting, without the bias and drama queen stuff.
I agree with you. Last night a couple retired generals were on asking Shep military questions about the Israelis and their plans. I could not believe it.

I don't think Shep will stay much longer, not because of his job performance, but because he's an anchor. When the "new" wears off the story, he and Hemmer will return to NY.
