Actually, I wish DH would ignore the irrelevant (or at least he would be, if he couldn't push magic buttons and get lots of attention from neocons) PB. He's got worse problems on his plate, and they're in Connecticut.

"Many American paleoconservatives see themselves as iconoclasts, breaking what they regard as liberal taboos. Particular targets of their ire include "Political correctness", Martin Luther King, the Civil Rights Movement, the Frankfurt School, and Franklin Roosevelt. "

What do all these folks and issues have in common? They are long gone.

Stuck on stupid in the 60's.

Pat is an anti-Semite. He went sooooooo far to the right that he went 'round the bend and ended up in the looney left.

By the way, what's the term for a "paleo-con" who supports Israel?

A meso-con.

I used to like Pat on Crossfire. After he decided to run for President I found I could not agree with much he had to say anymore.

It depends on the reason for your support for Israel and your views on foreign policy.

Mr. Buchanan,

I have listened to you in the media and read your columns for quite a number of years. Your latest column, " "No, this is not "our War", just has once again and so demonstratively proved what many of my colleagues, friends and relatives have always believed. You, Pat, do not speak for the right/conservatives and you are just a true Anti-Semitic, Jew hating, Israeli Hating political hack. This has been evident long before your Bit-burg speech for Reagan! Each of your columns and books, (they have been reviewed Lexis/nexis, etc.) and all of your diatribes on MSNBC/McLaughlin/Hannity, etc. seem to have one central theme and one central focal point. That point is all evil/social ills/problems on this planet have some root cause perpetrated by Jews! When a comparison is made with the basic core tenets of Mein Kampf, it is quite astounding to the overt similarities. Hitler's words words and yours seem to be in accord!.... "And so I believe to-day that my conduct is in accordance with the will of the Almighty Creator. In standing guard against the Jew I am defending the handiwork of the Lord." ....Hitler acted upon his convictions to cataclysmic downfall. You, in your pathetic joke of Presidential aspirations would have suffered similar fate! As a good catholic that you purport yourself, it is crystal that you do not espouse or embrace the church doctrine and teachings. Instead yours are more sympathetic to Father Coughlin's dogma of the 30's. Pat, maybe it is time that you make a pilgrimage to the Holy Land; Study the tolerance of religion, embrace the philosophy of protection to innocence and life and maybe then you could better comment without such a bitter and caustic hatred of Jews and Israel.....and then and only then could you write a column that my friends, family and colleagues could agree....after all, we are republican conservatives that stand with Israel and the pursuit of democracy and freedom everywhere and we are Americans!..... In closing Pat, ....."Yes, this is our War!" If not, when it comes again to American shores as on 9/11 (I was there and walked through it, breathed it and lost colleagues) will it be, "Our War then?" Molon Labe......No, Pat......You don't speak for me and you don't speak for conservatives...but most importantly and above all else...you most assuredly DO NOT Speak for America!!!!!

Does a secular state composed largely of non-believing Jews teach Christian Just War ethics?

Good answer.
Unfortunately many people equate Israel, the country, with Judaism, the religion. I support the State of Israel the same as I would support any democratic country being attacked by homicidal maniacs. That many of the citizens of Israel are Jewish doesn't mean a thing to me relative to supporting, or not supporting, the State of Israel. Many Israeli citizens are against the foreign policies of Israel. Are they antisemitic? Some Sunnis would just as soon see the Shia Hezbulla defeated. Are they any less antisemitic?
As far as our foriegn policy goes, it would be better if we proceeded on what was best for our Country, including relations with allies, rather than characterizations for or against a religion or ethnic group.

Frontpagemag.com, has opened up a front against Buchanan, with an article that levels charges of anti-Semitism against Buchanan and other so-called "paleoconservatives"

How predicable.

Funny thing is, everyone who knows him personally - I've heard & read Michael Kinsley, Laura Ingrahm, WFB, all swear he's not a bigot, and that his issues with Isreal are strictly geostrategic.

Or he is simply an American nationalist. AMERICA FIRST, while Israel is ninth after England, Ireland, Germany, Russia, Italy, Spain and of course Vatican :)

Any disruption of this natural order gets on his nerve.

This a-hole has no following whatsoever except by phony right wing lunatics.

Wrong! Most of Buchanan supporters voted for Bush, while many Naderites refused to vote for Gore. GWB owes his presidency to them.

Depends on who is characterizing you.

Anything from "pragmatist" to "rat @#$$##R^^!"

We won't go into the terms ACLU, CAIR, or Bereaved War Mother She-Hun might use.

Yep, and I think it is great that if Al Gore would have won his home state, he would have been President. I think that says a lot.

Only God knows his heart. I can not say. I will say that I think others like Ingrahm and Kinsley may not want any bigots in their ranks.

They know how detrimental it would be to the
