Cynthia McKinney's grip on district weakens
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution ^ | July 24, 2006 | Sonji Jacobs & Mae Gentry

U.S. Rep. Cynthia McKinney lost support last week in her political stronghold, south DeKalb County, forcing her into a runoff, an analysis of election results shows.

Former DeKalb County Commissioner Hank Johnson, who surprised many with his strong showing in the Democratic primary, made inroads in the predominantly black neighborhoods where McKinney traditionally has enjoyed staunch support. And he carried many precincts in largely white north DeKalb, according to the analysis by The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

What I find notable is that the third-place finisher polled far better in the white-majority northern part of the district than district-wide. The northern part of the district hasn't supported McKinney since 2000.

It indicates that McKinney is the underdog. Unfortunately, there is little difference between her and Hank Johnson on the issues.

Why exactly is Johnson running? Is he making Cynthia's antics, her anti-Americanism, and her assault of that police officer an issue? Not to mention her anti Jewish bigotry from 2002. If he is as bad on issues as she is, I wonder why he is bothering.

All conservatives want Cynthia McKinney out, but how will conservativism gain if she's replaced by another leftist who doesn't embarrass his fellow liberals?

One would hope that having an idiot like McKinney would constantly keep her party embarrassed.

Conservatives should vote for her. Why have another Lib take her place when you can have this useful idiot on the Rat team.

Quite correct. I saw this displayed in an interview that he did on Vanity and the Praying Mantis.

All conservatives want Cynthia McKinney out,

No, they don't. I for one want to see her make a fool of herself and the dems for a long long time.

Cynthia McKinney is the mainstream of the modern Democrat party.

Thanks for the ping.

This is very rare for me, but, since a Republican will "never" be elected from her district, I want JihadCindy to win by a landslide. She has done so much for us :)

I heartily agree.

Although I'd settle for a narrow victory, so that every time she's up for reelectin, she has a hotly contested primary that draws lots of press attention to her.

Gee! I wonder of having Mother Al Sheehani campaigning for her had anything to do with it...
