French Foreign Minister Philippe Douste-Blazy on Saturday criticized Israel's rejection of a 72-hour halt
to fighting to evacuate the injured, children and elderly from southern Lebanon.
"I actively regret" the refusal, Douste-Blazy told a news conference in Paris. He said he would immediately renew France's appeal for such a temporary truce through the United Nations. (AP)

The French are goofy.
This is war, the side that is getting its ass kicked doesn't get the opportunity to call timeout to regroup.
Maybe they can get the next geneva convention to introduce a standing eight count into the rules of war.

"72-hour halt to fighting to evacuate the injured, children and elderly from southern Lebanon."
Once these people are behind Israeli lines, they can be taken care of much better than on the hezzbulah side. Any kind of ceasefire only gives the terrorists time to regroup, restock and re-energize.

Ah yes, a tautology.
Mind you I use 'Free Gift' in Gospel preaching to explain 'Grace' sometimes. I will have to think of something else now.
kind regards.
