Posted on 08/02/2006 8:25:19 PM PDT by Quiet Man Jr.

Top Democrats are increasingly concerned that they lack an effective plan to turn out voters this fall, creating tension among party leaders and prompting House Democrats to launch a fundraising effort aimed exclusively at mobilizing Democratic partisans.

Is that why the RAT party is setting up voter registration boothes along the North shore of the Rio Grande?

If only we can organize a Conservative GOP turnout for the Primaries, the country will be safe.

Howard Dean has been spending a lot of the Dems funds in strategically suboptimal areas. We have a chance to overachieve in 2006 if we work hard enough.

My dear Dad always said that "Work is like walking.....it's NOT crowded".

He had a very good point going on that.

I think GOP candidates should focus on issues that get high conservative turnout. (ie. Gay Marriage and Eminent Domain etc.). The former is proven time and again to bring Conservatives (or the conservatively inclined main stream voter) to the pols.

How hard can it be to get a bunch of corpses to mail in their absentee votes?

The GOP really has an awesome GOTV program. As a county co-chair, I know the the RNC and the state parties have VERY effective game plans. Every election turns on turnout. They underestimated our turnout in 04 and they are probably going to underestimate GOP turnout this fall.

"We are obviously concerned," a senior Senate Democratic strategist said, but Schumer moved ahead two months ago with a plan to fortify get-out-the-vote operations in 15 states, including targeting disgruntled Republicans.

The rats are posting here. Don't worry rats...Dean will get around to developing a GOTV program sooner or later.

Democrats need to join the "Ride Your Bike to Your Polling Place on Election Wednesday" campaign.

It promotes a healthy lifestyle and raises ecological consciousness.

Is that what you got from this article? When have the Democrats NOT been is a tizzy about getting their incredibly shrinking voter base to the polls by hook or crook?

What I see is the Democrat bravado of claiming to take back the House and Senate meeting the true reality that they are a dying party of losers with untenable policy positions. That they still have the power they do is testament to how weak and cowardly the Republicans are. If the GOP had any balls, they'd steamroll these clowns like a Soviet army rolling through Hungary.

If the GOP were strong and showed them no mercy the way they show us none, we'd have veto-proof majorities as far as the eye can see.

Oh - too true! And there is another Dem method one of my friends witnessed as an election official in Nov. 2004. Drugged seniors from nursing homes are bussed to the polls where someone in a nursing frock wheels them up to the booth and pushes the buttons, voting for all the Dems. Then the frocked caretaker wheels the patient back to the bus and gets another nearly comatose patient, etc., etc.
