It would almost be impressive if she used a real cross with real nails thru her hands and feet.

To make her stunt work, tho', she'd have to die and be resurrected in three days...

Nope. Her attempt at cheapening the Sacrifice of Our Lord doesn't get airtime with me. She's just an aging, cheap act whose use-by date expired long ago. A bit like a mouldy hunk of cheese lost somewhere in the back of the fridge.

Pathetic how she can't just age gracefully and wollow in her $squillions.

Nothing happening here, folks. Keep moving...

Well, having seen the picture, I'm offended along with my separated Latin bretheren.

She's a smart woman who has made a name for herself in this world

That's not how I see it/her. There is so much more to life than chasing fame and money, which is pretty much the sum total of her life. In the end, she'll find it was fleeting at best. I'll bet there isn't one single adult in the world she can call a true friend.

Great pic! Sums it up nicely!

I like the model. She's a lot younger and prettier than Madonna and she always will be.

"Knock off the Christ-bashing," Catholic League president Bill Donohue said in a statement.

I love it.

Jim Robinson could go out to her and say "Knock it off!"

I'm not sure that either term, as they are commonly understood, can be applied to Jesus at all. Some scholars consider him a kind of hyper-Pharisee who, instead of trying to dissemble the Law, really intended to kick it up a few notches, well beyond the Pharisee's focus on the letter of the Law, to get to the true heart of it: "You have heard that it was said, 'You shall not commit adultery.' But I say to you, everyone who looks at a woman with lust has already committed adultery with her in his heart," for example.

Toleration, as it is commonly used, has come to mean "anything goes"; and intoleration has come to mean an irrational, stick-in-the-mud fuddy-duddyism. I think that neither apply to Jesus.

Somehow, given Madonna's reputation, I have the feeling that her concept and practice of "love thy neighbor" has quite a different meaning from Jesus' concept, too.

Yup. I'd hit it morning, noon, and night.

the American diva appears

Should read:

the Aging American diva

Funny how the MSM does not care to recognize she is ready for her AARP card. I wonder why that is?

Please tell me you're not comparing Mel's The Passion of Christ.....

...to Madonna's sacrilegious, self promoting travesty!

You know? People often refer to the tolorant side of Jesus and completely ignore the intolerant side of Him. While Jesus was a admirably tolorant man He was at the same time a very intolerant one. Kind of depends on the point He was making.

Actually, Jesus was very predictable that way. He was very kind and loving to the lost of this world, the tax collectors, prostitutes, and so on, however, He had zero-tolerance for the religious hypocrites like the pharisees and sadducees.

Think about it. To whom were the seven woes declared? To the religious leaders. But Jesus freqently associated with the sinners shunned by society. To them he brought his message of redemption--and they heard him.

"Jesus said to them, "I tell you the truth, the tax collectors and the prostitutes are entering the kingdom of God ahead of you. For John came to you to show you the way of righteousness, and you did not believe him, but the tax collectors and the prostitutes did. And even after you saw this, you did not repent and believe him." Matthew 21:32.

The prospect of the scene being repeated at the concert in Rome's Olympic stadium, some 2 miles from the Vatican, prompted Catholic officials to denounce the act as a publicity stunt in bad taste.

Well, DUH!!! It's Madonna, what did you expect!!??

Probably because the companies that produces the "news" and the companies that produce the recordings have the same corporate parents.....

She's just one sick person as most of todays entertainers/actors are. I don't watch them. Except for
"The Passion", which I thought was somewhat overrated, I haven't been in a movie theater in 13 yrs. Do I miss it? Not in the least. Truthfully it is refreshing not to know who these Hollywood-untalented-narsacisstic freaks are.

Muslim and Jewish leaders also condemned the fake crucifixion.

Though I rather doubt that the Muslims will be rioting all over the world over this.
